Stayed here for one week over new year. We had a two bed apartment. We booked this apartment specifically for the location and amenities, also the alpine factor of the property. The apartment was a decent size for us (2 adults & 2 children). We didn’t spent that much time in the apartment so was perfect for our needs. One wall had a sloped ceiling which didn’t bother us however if you are particularly tall, might be an issue. Whilst it was clean, on closer inspection the bathroom could have been cleaned to a higher standard. There was a dried shampoo or conditioner spill on the end of the bath and there was some sort of gunk under the glass shower screen. I had brought Dettol wipes with me so I cleaned this up but really shouldn’t have had to. The kitchen was better. We used the pools, jacuzzi, saunas and hammam. All really welcomed after a morning/afternoon of skiing. Robes were provided, although these had seen better days. We had to walk outside a short distance to get to the pool but there was something quite satisfying walking through the snow to get to the warm pool so not an issue for us! Location wise, the square is a short walk < 2 mins. The shuttle bus is literally outside and this must be one of the first stops so it was always empty so we could get seats. It’s fills up quickly on the subsequent stops. Even on New Years Day, the buses ran frequently. There is a Carrefour in the village. We did a big shop at Super U in Magland en route and then top up shops at the Carrefour. There wasn’t a great amount of parking so we didn’t move the car all week. Had parking been more plentiful, I would have liked to visit the Super U more, as it was huge with more choice. We didn’t use the ski store. We paid for the lockers at the ski place so can’t comment on those. It was definitely worth it so you don’t have to faff about with carrying the gear on the bus. We had a great trip and have booked again for next year.

“Clean and tidy ski accommodation”

Great location. Apartments not huge, but good for French mountain standards. Clean and tidy and everything that you might need for a week’s stay. Supermarket, restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Pool saunas and steam rooms were clean and tidy and a very welcome respite for tired ski legs. Use the… lisää

Great location. Apartments not huge, but good for French mountain standards. Clean and tidy and everything that you might need for a week’s stay. Supermarket, restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Pool saunas and steam rooms were clean and tidy and a very welcome respite for tired ski legs. Use the lockers up at the Gondola to save carrying gear up and down the hill. Would have been nice if reception with the pool table and games had been open a little later than 8pm, or if the TV was internet connected so we could get English speaking channels - but this wasn’t a biggie. Overall - I’d be very happy to rebook here.

“Recommended - would stay again”

arriving after reception shut (at 10pm) was a bit confusing but we found the chalet (should maybe put on the map where you are when you pick up the keys) the apartment was v clean, loads of hot water, even had a bath. we had the flat for 5 but there were 3 of us and it was superb. Never went to the pool but loved the fact they gave us gowns to get there if you wanted - not much of a hardship to go a wee bit outside to get there Supermarket on site and very short walk to the centre of town Def hire a locker at the base of the chairlift , you have to book them in advance online but they are great and make getting up and down v easy Les Carroz overall is a brilliant alpine village with superb snowboarding Would def stay here again

“Severely Lacking Basics for 4 Star”

Great holiday with the family. Les Carroz is a smashing resort, without the more ‘alcoholic apres ski’ of other places. Friendly and bright with a lovely village square, surrounded by some classy shops. Access to ski from the main gondola leads to some easy skiing, but with simple access to both Flaine and the other villages. However, with the increased footfall elsewhere, the snow terrain was actually best locally. Samoens is North facing, so colder and darker. Flaine in best at the upper levels. Now for the apartment. We had two apartments, each with two bedrooms. Space was actually quite good for French accommodation (Flaine is more cramped normally, apart from the better places). Beds comfortable, heaters worked fine. Expect to clean the kitchen area before you leave. Don’t expect to socialise at the reception in the evening because it’s closed (bonus is it stops noisy party’s). Supermarket next door, well stocked and not to expensive. Very happy to get skis from SkiSet at ‘ New Loc’, which is very close and quality was good. If you keep an eye open, they often have reduced rates which beat that given via the hotel. Some dreadful negatives though: - We were housed in Block D, which means you have to walk outside to get to the pool/sauna/jacussi, passing the public ice rink. - Ski lockers are difficult to find and have no heating (totally unacceptable for a ski resort hotel, especially as you are not allowed to bring skis and boots back to the apartment). I suggest you use the lockers for hire at the gondola area; however, be prepared for an awkward booking procedure over the internet only system. Remember to ‘validate’ each stage of opening and expect not to be able to use the lockers for hire until after 4:30pm in the afternoon (what’s that all about?). - Internet was impossible. See photo. Use your phone or give up and read a book. - Forget the TV unless you are French. Not one English speaking channel. Not even CNN… - Two toilet rolls is insufficient for a family of four and a laughable way for P&V to save money under the guise of being ‘environmentally friendly’. Sounds bad, but no problem as long as you are prepared. Suggest you ask for the main blocks as there is a better view and access to the pool.
