“No-frills but comfortable hotel”

A handy stopover for the World Cup at this no-frills but comfortable hotel. Bit pricey for the time of year but to be expected with the rugby! Basic breakfast provided and handy location for the local shopping centre the next morning! Recommend for convenience.

Very good stay. Was in Saint-Etienne for a EURO 2016 match and stayed just outside the city. Rooms were clean and spacious and had AC which was a huge plus. Very good stay. Was in Saint-Etienne for a EURO 2016 match and stayed just outside the city. Rooms were clean and spacious and had AC which was a huge plus. The staff tried to be helpful but it was clear they were overwhelmed. Perhaps due to greater number of occupants. On the day I was checking out there was only one person working the front desk and the breakfast buffet. If you needed a cab, it seemed like it was a long wait for one from here. There were plenty of Uber cars in the area. This was a better option in my experience.

The location is far from the city center. It's a one-half hour walk to the train station and even farther to the center city. (A bus line runs near the hotel, but it shuts down at 8:00PM. The location is far from the city center. It's a one-half hour walk to the train station and even farther to the center city. (A bus line runs near the hotel, but it shuts down at 8:00PM. But taxis are inexpensive and plentiful in Saint-Etienne.) The rooms are in very good shape. The beds are large and comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bargain (which is important given the isolated location.) But there are problems. The shower is designed so that if you move in the shower, you will hit the water control and change temperature or pressure. Wifi was down for three days during my recent five-night stay. Your room will not get cleaned if you linger in there past 10:00AM.
