“Kätevä hotelli”

Hyvä hinta-laatusuhde ja kätevä sijainti. Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Hyvin varusteltu aamiaisbaari, aurinkoinen terassi, ilmainen wifi internet ja off-street car park. Perhe-tyyppinen ravintola illalliselle. Ikkunoissa on kaksinkertaiset ikkunat, jotka tekevät huoneesta erittäin hiljaisen.

close to the Tesla superchargers in Sisteron and from the highway entrance, large free parking. Warm welcome received, Fresh homemade cooking ( filet de boeuf, agneau du pays…) and reasonably priced , worth the small detour towards Sisteron after charging the Tesla.

This hotel has a good restaurant. The buffet for a starter or main has an excellent selection of salads and meats. A variety of other starters, main course and desserts available. Service is also good. Sit outside under large parasols if the weather is warm.

This was our third visit to Les Chenes, though now it was under new management. We would not describe its situation, next to a main road through a commercial district, as beautiful, but it is convenient, being only about 5 minutes drive north of Sisteron town. This was our third visit to Les Chenes, though now it was under new management. We would not describe its situation, next to a main road through a commercial district, as beautiful, but it is convenient, being only about 5 minutes drive north of Sisteron town. Sisteron and its unique citadel are very well worth visiting, and it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Not all parking in the town is 'payant': there is a car park beside the main road about 200 metres north of the road tunnel out of the town centre, which was free. From here one can easily walk into the old town, and from the car park there is an attractive path climbing through the woods to the citadel. There is also a magnificent view of the river. The hotel has a large private car park. Our room was large and comfortable, with modern plumbing in the bathroom, though the bathroom had just about no storage. The traffic noise was not a problem with the windows almost closed. There was air conditioning, I think, though we had no need for it at this time of year. We tried both the 24 euro and the 21 euro menus for dinner, and thought the 21 euro menu was certainly the better. For starter, one of us had a large helping of green and white asparagus, while the other had a selection of charcuterie which was large in quantity and of good quality: a meal in itself. We then had a thick and juicy filet of hake, cooked with its skin on, served with melted butter, half a stuffed tomato, and a generous bowl of good, fluffy long-grained rice. Nougat glace made a good desert, and the coffee was excellent. Good Cotes de Ventoux wine. Breakfast was a small buffet, which was fine.
