Neuf Brisach is a quiet old military town surrounded by Vauban designed defences. The Deux Roses Hotel is inside the old town and has all modern comforts even if the rooms are a bit dated compared to modern chain hotels. The staff can speak English and the restaurant serves excellent tasty Alsacien food. Secure storage for bicycles inside and enormous old wood framed barn across the road.

“An ok stop”

This small hotel was in a charming little village but lacked some of the amenities we would have wanted. It was clean but the rooms were small, the WiFi was unreliable, the water for the shower was not always hot and they didn't open until 4:30 which was annoying. It was clean but the rooms were small, the WiFi was unreliable, the water for the shower was not always hot and they didn't open until 4:30 which was annoying. But theft were nice people at the desk. The. food in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced.

“Very expensive drinks”

We stayed as a group (32 persons) 2 nights in this hotel . When we had our dinner, there was only space for 22 persons, they had to organise extra seats for the rest of the group. Food was ok, but drinks were very expensive (6.50 for a beer). Rooms were old, but clean, and wifi was fine.

Arriving on bicycle on a rainy Sunday earlier than planned, we received a warm welcome in spite of the staff being heavily involved in serving two bus loads of tourists their Sunday lunch. Arriving on bicycle on a rainy Sunday earlier than planned, we received a warm welcome in spite of the staff being heavily involved in serving two bus loads of tourists their Sunday lunch. We garaged our bikes in a nearby enormous secure garage and we're able to go to our rooms--much appreciated as we were rather "trempé"/soaking wet. Yes, the room was small, but clean, freshly painted with new colorful bedspreads. The beds are comfortable. Very typical for small town French hotels. A very small bathroom, but with everything you need! The restaurant on the lower level for dinner was delicious and traditional. Delicious rœsti Provençale! Non pretentious and engaging service. Very Alsacien and enjoyable. I would stay here again with pleasure. You could do much worse!

The Aux deux Roses is a popular stopover for cyclists riding the length of the Rhine. As they have a storage garage for bikes. Breakfast was nice and the staff friendly. Neuf Brisach is an interesting fortified town design by vauban. I don't know if it was because it was raining while we were there but the inner town was very quiet.
