“Authentic surprise!”

This B&B was a great experience for the whole family and our friends. Ample and secured parking on arrival. Very welcoming reception by the owner. Albeit a new building the interiors are unique and made to look from a different period. Every room has its own decorative theme. Each room had tv, hair dryer, ample towels, bottle of water, shower and separate toilet in the room. Toilet paper rolls had soccer balls printed on them whilst the European soccer championships were going on! Beds were good to sleep on. Everything worked well, a lot of attention to detail. Free and fast Wifi. Breakfast was a dream, fresh breads, muesli, croissants and pastries, even pancakes were served for the kids. Large selection of home made marmelade and honey. Covered pool available to swim in. Very assertive but friendly service by owners. Will definitely be back again! Certainly beats any cheaper hotel in comfort and value for money. Check out the well inside the house and ask the owners about its history!

“Very nice and warm chambre d'hotes”

Very nice chambre d'hotes, the owners were very kind and helpful. Situated in a green, quite environment. Rooms were nice and food was excellent. To use your phone, you have to step outside because the network is not working inside.

“Good location”

We we in the area to visit distant relatives. This was a good spot with easy accessibility. Especially enjoyed common area for casual seating and for chatting with other guests. Plus we were able to shop at grocery and return to the common area to eat supper.

This hotel is very difficult to find, even with the help of the sat nav. We arrived at about 7pm and had already had a call from the owners enquiring as to our likely arrival and as we had reserved dinner, they also asked what we would like to eat. This hotel is very difficult to find, even with the help of the sat nav. We arrived at about 7pm and had already had a call from the owners enquiring as to our likely arrival and as we had reserved dinner, they also asked what we would like to eat. The room we had was in an annexe made to look old but was actually fairly modern. We loved the room and the décor and there was plenty of space. The hotel has a large garden with a pool and sauna, both of which were covered up-a little disappointing as it was only early Sept. Our hostess and host were both charming and we got by with a smattering of English and French between us! Our evening meal was lovely and all home made using garden and local produce. It was good to have pre-ordered as there didn't appear to be anywhere else to eat in the local area. The hotel is in a place called Dourd'hal which is about 2 miles from Saint Avold-the directions we had for the place did not make this clear so be aware! .. Breakfast was the best we have ever seen in a B&B with a wealth of choice from breads, to honey to jams and cakes, pates, cheeses and meats and fresh coffee. The only downside to our visit was the inconsideration of the people staying upstairs. They came in at 2am and woke us up stomping around upstairs, with no thought for any other guests. This was a good place for an overnight stay.
