I've been working in Orly for the last few months and have stayed at a number of different hotels around the airport.The Howard is one of the better ones and is my favourite of the bunch. The hotel has a gym which is small and basic, it has one, cross trainer, treadmill, stepper and bike. The only other hotel around with a gym is the Novotel which is generally more pricey. The gym is one of the main reasons why I stay here, that and the choice of restaurants nearby. There are a few restaurants nearby so there are other options to the hotel restaurant if you're here longer than one night. The Chinese is the nearest outside and it's literally round the corner. There's a public swimming pool a short walk away too. There's a massive Carrefour across the road if you need any snacks or shopping. There's a free shuttle to the airport every half an hour although I generally catch the T7 tram as it's so quick to get to the airport and back, tickets around £2 each way. The rooms generally have everything that you need in them, TV, WiFi, kettle, shower, soap and shower gel, mini fridge with water and I have always found the bed to be comfortable. Each room seems to be slightly different to the next with different layouts for the bathroom and cupboards. The let down of the Howard is that the maintenance doesn't keep it up to the high standard that it should be. Nearly every room that I have stayed in has had something wrong with it, a loose sink tap, the fridge not working, room bin missing, part of the shower screen missing, cracked mirror panel, carpet burns, no toilet roll holder, entrance lights not working. I'm sure the cleaners must notice some of these things and let the maintenance team know! If it wasn't for these it would definitely get 5 stars from me. Oh and the WiFi always resets at midnight and you have to sign back in again. I like the rooms that face towards the road towards the airport as I like to open the window in the morning and look out, the road is a bit noisy though so if you're a very light sleeper the double glazing may not be enough for you and take one of the rooms at the back.
