The hotel is in a quiet spot with nice views, plenty of parking and a comfortable bed, good breakfast and a friendly and congenial host - Jerome. . dining on the patio was pleasant, scenic and relaxing. Someone here complained about the food, but my experience was fine, I had a HORRIBLE experience at the Maison de Marquay, (in this town) which gave away my room and refused to return my deposit, Jerome helped pick up my spirits, and in fact I would recommend you stay here for half the price and infinitely more friendly/ spacious atmosphere, The ride to and from Sarlat is a bit tedious, but manageable, Overall, after walking around Sarlat all day, it was a pleasure to get away from the crowds. BTW, wifi was good.

“decent family hotel”

We booked here last minute to extent our stay in France after a wedding. Bit of a trek in the car to get to, but once your there the hotel is on the edge of the lovely quiet village of Marquay. We booked here last minute to extent our stay in France after a wedding. Bit of a trek in the car to get to, but once your there the hotel is on the edge of the lovely quiet village of Marquay. The simple rooms have a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape and its walking distance from the village. The manager is lovely and always willing to assist. As others have mentioned, the let down is the food which gets even worse on the days the chef isn't working. Luckily there's a fantastic restaurant down the road in the village and recommend you take a short walk or drive there. As a young professional couple, we don't normally stay in such hotels, certainty more suitable for young families would would appreciate the mini-golf and swimming pool to entertain the kids.

“Warm welcome & tranquil setting”

We received a very warm & friendly welcome. The room was comfortable with a large, firm bed. It also had a small terrace with table & chairs overlooking miles of beautiful countryside. Very clean, modern shower room & separate toilet. Limited dinner menu, but the food was good & well presented (the goose breast was excellent). Breakfast was basic but adequate, with no extra charges. Our host spoke pretty good english, & had a great sense of humour. We didn't use the swimming pool, but noticed that it does have depth indication.

Only problem is that their meals were quite expensive, and they are some distance from other towns and stores. Also, if you wanted juice and coffee at breakfast, it cost another 2 euros.

“Food awful food”

Lovely location, in the country with fantastic views. Easy access to Sarlat and all the local prehistory sites. Rooms are a good size but boring brown. Separate toilet which needs a new seat! Lighting is good, plenty of pillows & blankets. Good efficient air conditioning, swimming pool a good size … lisää

Lovely location, in the country with fantastic views. Easy access to Sarlat and all the local prehistory sites. Rooms are a good size but boring brown. Separate toilet which needs a new seat! Lighting is good, plenty of pillows & blankets. Good efficient air conditioning, swimming pool a good size but no handrail, not heated, no indication of depth given - surely this is EU Law? The menu is dreadful and expensive, three menus to choose from, but all contain 2/3 duck starters, 2/3 duck main courses, one plat de jour was eel, one cold pork, one lamb (hurrah), and wait for it - a goose stew! My friend is a vegetarian and was offered lettuce with cheese or pasta with ham!!! So we chose to eat in a local restaurant, lovely food, good choices and good service and cheaper.
