Phillippe, the owner, is a really nice guy, and really makes an extra-effort to see to it that his guests are satified with their respective stays. That said, Le Rochegude, for me, was nearly perfect. I was upgraded to a bigger room because of a problem with a key, so that was a big plus from the get-go. The hotel, perhaps because there were only four other guests staying at the time but also because the windows are sound-proofed, was as quiet as a mausoleum, which I needed desperately after coming off of a really bad Airbnb experience in another area of the city. The neighborhood is a bit removed from the historic district (yet still within ten minutes by walking), which is a major advantage in that one does not have to cope with noise and throngs of obnoxious tourists after a day spent exploring. An additional boon is that the hotel is near a beautiful, expansive park that bears the same name -- the Rochegude Park -- where people (mostly locals) go to stroll, and picnic, and just hang out. If I return to Albi, I will most certainly stay again at the Hotel Le Rochegude...

“Perfect for what we were looking for”

The hotel is basic but good. Clean room, good matras. Quiet and on walking distance from te city centre. The owner is very sympathetic. Continental breakfast. If your demands are basic but with quality, this is a stay over place to consider

I was on my own but had a double room, which would have been on the small side for two as there was virtually no shelf space. However, I was very pleased with the really comfortable bed and the air conditioner, and there was enough space for my needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and when I wrote to ask whether there would be a hair dryer the reply was that one would be available for me - it looked as if it had been bought new specially. The room was not overlooked and was very quiet. Breakfast was basic but OK, with warm bread & croissants. B&B were good value for money.

Our room was clean and small and our reception warm and friendly. Like most small French hotels be prepared to climb the stairs. The hotel is within walking distance of the places on the tourist see list. However if you are after food and drink a walk of a block or two will be necessary. Free parking was found close by once the nearby businesses closed for the day. Wi-fi was free. Our one criticism is that the walls and ceiling are not soundproof from other residents - we could hear the footsteps from the room above and snoring from the adjoining room! But this may be the price you pay for budget price accommodation.
