“Nice stay”

We rented a built tent in July for a long week end, it was confortable enough and large inside. We had plenty of blankets to keep us warm at night which was lovely . We rented a built tent in July for a long week end, it was confortable enough and large inside. We had plenty of blankets to keep us warm at night which was lovely . The pool was stil to cool in July to use even the kids couldn't go in . The place was quiet with beautiful views on the mountain . There are many attractions close by and you can walk to the village. The pizzas were lovely at the Huttopia restaurant. A nice break away from Barcelona we will repeat for sure

“Tent for Two”

This is a very good place to be: the location, the scenery, the campsite, the mountains. We, in our three-night stay, had incredibly fine weather, with temperatures hitting the high twenties each day. This is a very good place to be: the location, the scenery, the campsite, the mountains. We, in our three-night stay, had incredibly fine weather, with temperatures hitting the high twenties each day. Night time required the duvet and the clean white linen they provided, and probably on some nights it would require the blankets too. It was a bit stormy when we arrived which I guess isn’t uncommon, but it passes and if you’re deterred by such things then mountains and camping are probably not for you. It’s mostly families here staying in lodges and in larger pre-erected tents than the adequately roomy two-person version we hired. There are also many campers in their own tents on spacious pitches sufficiently removed from those of others. The hireable accommodations are very well equipped and we used the gas bbq several times, although there is a pizza restaurant/takeaway in the reception area which also accommodates a bar and a small shop. The toilets and showers are clean and we have not had to wait for either. The staff were friendly and acted quickly to replace the missing bbq which turned up next day along with our parasol borrowed by another camper prior to our arrival. They were much less efficient in sorting out the electricity outage caused by a storm affecting a small number of units. Taking them at their word, it is easily possible that there was no quick solution and even the electrician was unable to fix things, apparently. I wondered why they didn’t just route a cable from a working source to our tent. Anyway, soon after our fourth visit to reception on our second day, they sorted it by routing a cable from a working source to us! And so we had light, charged phones, chilled wine and a very cosy tent.

“Great campsite for active families”

We just spent 8 nights with our 7 year old son at this fabulous campsite. The Huttopia camping is located in the village of Font Romeu and you have a grocery store, a pharmacy and various restaurants within 15 min walking distance. We just spent 8 nights with our 7 year old son at this fabulous campsite. The Huttopia camping is located in the village of Font Romeu and you have a grocery store, a pharmacy and various restaurants within 15 min walking distance. The campsite has very nice views, and the sanitary facilities seem to be recently renovated. The pitches are all nice, we preferred the area in the center as it has more sun. The pool has comfortable chairs for sunbathing, the water is refreshingly cold. In the central lodge there is a cosy restaurant and a space where you can play tables games or pool with your family. The hut is nice and warm and we went quite often as the evenings are chilly outside. The burgers and pizza are delicious and we loved the Key Lime Pie for dessert. The weekly activities are really outstanding and mostly free of charge. The Rally by Night for the whole family was a lots of fun, also the tree climbing for the kids and the Huskie dog walking (2€). 5 minutes by feet away from the campsite you have an adventure park, tennis courts and a laser game area. Actually one of the advantages is, that you don't need to move the car every day. You can start your hiking or bike tours right from the campsite. The Huttopia camping is really great, there are just some details they could improve. Some pitches need to be leveled better. The staff is very helpful, but we missed a friendly smile from time to time. Also the activities are mostly in French and if you don't dominate the language it's a challenge. Maintenance could pass with a higher frequency through the toilets in high season, sometimes some of the stalls where out of toilet paper and most of the time the paper was just lying around instead of being put into the toilet paper holder. We really enjoyed our stay. This is probably the most quiet campsite we ever stayed at. This place is perfect to relax, to do sports and to connect with nature.

“Budget Ski Holiday”

We wanted a simple holiday away from the crowds, living in a genuine village rather than a resort and a good variety of skiing for the range of abilities in our two families. We wanted a simple holiday away from the crowds, living in a genuine village rather than a resort and a good variety of skiing for the range of abilities in our two families. Huttopia ticked all the boxes: Log cabin; wood burning stove (but we hardly needed it as the heating was so efficient); clean; peaceful; friendly; decent shower; plenty of hot water; dishwasher; walking distance from the village and slopes; and plenty of room for all our stuff. The cabin was clean and compact and stocked with everything we could possibly need for a week. They aren't massive but we spilled out onto our deck and sent the children out to play if it started to feel small. We payed the same price for all of us for the week as we would for 1 at a catered chalet and with all that money saved were able to enjoy a week's skiing in this beautiful corner of the world.
