“Tricky to Find”

Unless you happen to be coming in from Poitiers you won't see any signs for this hotel - we had to ask in a twon centre shop. Eventually we found it in a suburban street at the end of a 100 yard drive. The actual hotel sign had been knocked about by a high sided vehicle and was totally invisible ! … lisää

Unless you happen to be coming in from Poitiers you won't see any signs for this hotel - we had to ask in a twon centre shop. Eventually we found it in a suburban street at the end of a 100 yard drive. The actual hotel sign had been knocked about by a high sided vehicle and was totally invisible ! The flowers on the building at the end of the drive gave the game away ! The room was quiet, spacious and airy with a delightful view over the River Vienne. Decent sized bathroom. Dinner was pleasant but only 2 other guests staying there. Could it be to do with lack of directional signs ? Prices and reasonable and it's a comfortable place to say and the town itself is pleasant.

“Tranquil , a sort of home from home”

Having tried to stay here in high season and failed as it was full , was nice to get the other end of the scale in November when we were almost the only people there... Nice comfy bed , lovely view over the river , great breakfast , pleasant staff - really very good value.

Stayed at Le Fleuri for an overnight stop on route to the South of France. Very friendly greeting on arrival, given a choice of rooms overlooking the river and the old town on the opposite bank with ruined castle, a quite stunning view. (not all rooms have this view). Stayed at Le Fleuri for an overnight stop on route to the South of France. Very friendly greeting on arrival, given a choice of rooms overlooking the river and the old town on the opposite bank with ruined castle, a quite stunning view. (not all rooms have this view). Room a little old fashioned but everything worked and was clean. An informal atmosphere, like being in someone's home. Dinner was fine excellent duck pate, usual steak and chips, cheese and a pud. Normal French breakfast with good coffee. Restaurant had an intersting collection of china reapots and china ducks neatly arrange on shelves. Ver good value for money.

This is one of two hotels in Chauvigny the other being the far more expensive Logis de France in the town. The architecture is a cross between Stalinist brutality and Le Corbusier, very heavy on 1960/70's reinforced concrete. The rooms or at least the one we had we large with a comfortable bed. This is one of two hotels in Chauvigny the other being the far more expensive Logis de France in the town. The architecture is a cross between Stalinist brutality and Le Corbusier, very heavy on 1960/70's reinforced concrete. The rooms or at least the one we had we large with a comfortable bed. The basic cleanliness was Ok though there was a huge cobweb in the toilet. Price was very low so all in all pretty good value for money for a one night stop over but not on any touring itinerary of luxury hotels.
