As we were totally ignorant of this place Reunion, we chose to stay 2 nights here first, which is at city centre, before we moved to higher hills in St Dennis for better overview of the city. As we were totally ignorant of this place Reunion, we chose to stay 2 nights here first, which is at city centre, before we moved to higher hills in St Dennis for better overview of the city. The hotel is functional, cleanliness ok, we slept well. Neighborhood rather quiet especially at night. The front desk man during night shift is nice and tried endeavour to reply us although he spoke nearly zero English (and we know zero French except Bonjour). The lady in daytime can speak English, very helpful and equally nice friendly. We used this hotel as a base to go round the city. We stayed in early Jan 2023 and it's a long public holiday here, so only a few shops and decent restaurants or eateries opened. Everything is fine here. Recommended. But if you want to stay in a more romantic and fancy place, better go other hotels uphill of the city.

“Comfortable, quiet and helpful”

Used during a week long conference in Saint-Denis. Three star hotel, not physically spectacular, but room and bed comfortable and quiet, pretty spacious. Good internet. Some small things a little tatty - loose bathroom fittings - but hardly the sort of thing to pester about. Good breakfast. Helpful… lisää

Used during a week long conference in Saint-Denis. Three star hotel, not physically spectacular, but room and bed comfortable and quiet, pretty spacious. Good internet. Helpful and friendly Reception staff, indeed all staff, good with recommendations for restaurants on arrival, and with taxi bookings etc. Conveniently located a few mins walk from most things you'll need in St Denis

“Lovely hotel for a stopover”

We stayed at Hotel Austral on our way to and from Nosy Be. We wanted a hotel in the center of town so we had access to walk around Saint-Denis, as we were only on the island for a short time. We stayed at Hotel Austral on our way to and from Nosy Be. We wanted a hotel in the center of town so we had access to walk around Saint-Denis, as we were only on the island for a short time. Hotel Austral was perfectly situated in the heart of the town and we were able to wonder around and get to see loads of what Saint-Denis has to offer. There were lovely restaurants and patisseries very close by too. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly and were very accommodating when we had a 9,5 hour flight delay and went out of their way for us. They stored our luggage for us after we checked out (we had the day to explore more of Saint-Denis due to our delayed flight), told us about activities happening in town on the day we spent in Saint-Denis due to our flight delay and even offered us showers before we left for the airport. Hotel Austral is the perfect spot to stay if you have a short time in Saint-Denis and want to be within a short distance of loads of very interring things to see

“One Night Stay on Tour of Reunion”

This hotel is in the city center near shopping. It needs renovation. It is good for a one night stay. Breakfast was included in my stay. Choices of food was minimal. Free Wi-Fi was included. The staff was very helpful.

“Could be better”

The location is pretty good to explore the city. The bed was comfortable, and AC & wifi worked well. The room is a bit dated. The elevator was out of service. Free parking under the hotel is convenient. the Staff were friendly. There was no lighting in the halls or stairs, was weird & unsafe.
