We have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the last few years large and small. This ranks with the best of them. The positives: clean property and room, friendly and accommodating owner, secure bicycle storage if you're on bicycle, great water pressure in sink and shower, large room and bathroom, good room lighting, good wifi in lobby but not in the room, across the street from restaurants and shops, beautiful linens, good a/c. The negatives: the wifi barely works in your room but works great in their lobby. Bottom line- you'll have a great nights sleep at a fair price.

Another stay in this lovely hotel in Cloppenburg. The larger than average room and bathroom were nice and cosy; important when the outside temperature falls to -8 C degrees at night. Another stay in this lovely hotel in Cloppenburg. The larger than average room and bathroom were nice and cosy; important when the outside temperature falls to -8 C degrees at night. With plenty of storage for all our things and a double washbasin in the bathroom, this is so far the best room we have stayed in in this hotel. The service in the hotel was perfect as always and the breakfast buffet includes freshly prepared fried or scrambled eggs to your order. The restaurant was closed during our stay but we enjoyed an evening with family in the Bistro, eating the Monday special: unlimited spareribs. Delicious! We are looking forward to our next stay.

We stay in Cloppenburg once or twice a year and decided to try staying at Schaefers as it had been refurbished recently and we had been somewhat disappointed with the parking and wifi options at the hotel in the park at our last visit there. We stay in Cloppenburg once or twice a year and decided to try staying at Schaefers as it had been refurbished recently and we had been somewhat disappointed with the parking and wifi options at the hotel in the park at our last visit there. Our booking was for 4 nights. We were able to check in quite early as we had informed them upfront that we would arrive early in the morning. The atmosphere is very friendly and personal, all staff is pleasant and helpful. The hotel has free parking in the back and offers free wifi. The room was slightly on the small side for two adults with two big suitcases but perfectly suitable. The location of the hotel invites you to leave your car and stroll down the pedestrian zone with its shops and cafes. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant Margaux one night and enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the mornings. Will definitely stay there again when we are back in Cloppenburg.

“A good basic hotel”

Lovely pleasant staff at this hotel. The rooms was well furnished and the beds comfortable. I booked two single rooms but got one a single and a double. My room (double) overlooked the main road which was noisy with the windows open, but quiet when shut, good blackout curtains too, I was provide… lisää

Lovely pleasant staff at this hotel. The rooms was well furnished and the beds comfortable. I booked two single rooms but got one a single and a double. My room (double) overlooked the main road which was noisy with the windows open, but quiet when shut, good blackout curtains too, I was provided with a fan which was needed as the rooms are stuffy. My sons room (single) was at the back and it was small and very hot even with the window open, he found it too hot to sleep and could hear the person in the next room having a bath! Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, location was excellent with the town centre right across the street. I managed to get a parking spot at 10pm but the hotel was quiet, I'd advice getting there early if its busy.
