Yet another visit at this nice hotel in Luneburg. It has a perfect location directly in the old parts of the city. This time we did not get the room we wanted, but the room we got was big enough and clean all over. The room is located in the new building they have directly over the small bridge. We had a fantastic view of the river from the room. The breakfast was nice. We had a parking space in the parking cellar; however, this parking is very tight if you have a larger type of car.

Location - perfection. The little bridges connecting over the water to the old town, so quaint! Cleanliness - this is an area of concern. The whole hotel had an older (more traditional, not neglected) vibe. The staff worked hard you could see. That said, with the high turnover I imagine it’s hard to keep up with deep cleaning. Our room appeared clean and pleasant when we walked in. Then I pulled the curtain back and saw a huge dead moth on the floor. And numerous large spiders in corners, including wardrobe. Plus more dust and spiderwebs the more I looked. I just stopped looking and took extra allergy meds. 😬 The windows are cute and offer great ambiance and character, but without screens and surrounded by beautiful nature, this is alarming in my opinion. We arrived and windows were open to presumably air out the room. But screens are a MUCH needed investment in this property, especially the side with trees all up against windows. Very glad my partner didn’t know I saw all the critters. Service - 5/5 Comfort - 2/5 beds are old and shot, sleep in a bowl, pillows are basically invisible, we used the duvets balled into pillows. Amenities - great shower, even though small bathroom Room Quality - 4/5 Value for Money - 4/5 Food & Dining - breakfast €25/person Atmosphere/Vibe - so quaint and amazing to take little bridges and walk into the restaurants Accessibility - 5/5 Safety & Security - 5/5 Check-in/Check-out Process - 5/5 Parking - paid €20 garage on site Pets - allowed, free

“Nice visit with time to enjoy”

We visited Luneburg at the end of a month long trip to Europe. I used to stay at the Bergstrom on business a dozen or more years ago. We visited Luneburg at the end of a month long trip to Europe. I used to stay at the Bergstrom on business a dozen or more years ago. The hotel itself was largely unchanged, though the current owners Dormero should pay a little more attention to detail and maintenance. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. Our room was in the Luner Muhle on the 3rd floor, with lovely views over the Stintmarket area. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable and front desk helped us carry our cases up the staircases, as there is no elevator. A highlight for me was reconnecting with Hajdar who still runs a very efficient bar at the hotel. It was good to see him.

The Hotel Bergström is very well situated on the edge of the beautiful city center. From the hotel you can walk to the sights in a few minutes. The hotel consists of several historic buildings. The Hotel Bergström is very well situated on the edge of the beautiful city center. From the hotel you can walk to the sights in a few minutes. The hotel consists of several historic buildings. Our room was in the Lüneburger Mühle, a former water mill. The hotel is part of the scenery of a German soap opera, it draws a lot of fans apparently. The room was spacious and clean, but a bit outdated. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was OK, but the shower head would not stay put, annoying. Despite requests this was not fixed during our stay. Beware that there is no elevator in the building. The young lady at the reception was not overly welcoming. When asked where to park she waved outside to a parking garage. After I drove down I noticed the garage was full and extremely narrow, very difficult to get out again without space to manoevre. The other garage was equally narrow, and I damaged an alloy wheel on the ramp. Tip: walk down first to check, and if you have a large car better find another spot Like the reception girl, the staff is correct, but does not give you a feeling you're welcome and they're not very alert. Breakfast was good, but for €25 per person that is to be expected. At checkout there was no one present, and it was unclear how to get out of the parking. The indicated phonenumber was not answered. Staff meeting, apparently, cleverly planned around check-out time. All in all a good location, but not an unforgettable place.
