We spent two nights at this hotel with our seven-year-old daughter. The reception staff were polite and very helpful. Just keep in mind that rooms are not ready before 15:00, so plan your arrival accordingly. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room — it was larger and even nicer than in the photos, with a perfect view of the lake. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was exceptional for a three-star hotel in Germany. There was a wide variety of options, everything fresh and delicious. The same goes for the restaurant menu — during our two-and-a-half-day stay, we always dined at the hotel and never felt the need to go elsewhere. The restaurant also has a small play area for kids with toys and a smart screen, which is a thoughtful touch for families. The lake is stunning, especially when it snows, and the location is ideal for hiking. I highly recommend this hotel. And a little spoiler: when you check out, they give you a complimentary voucher for one of their special breads — a lovely way to end the stay.

“Summer Vacation in The Black Forest”

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Berghotel Mummelsee. Breakfast was great. Amenities were great. Great hiking and views from the mountains. I highly recommend.

The hotel is near perfect, everything you need is right there at the lake. They bake their own bread, which you can buy separately if you want and have two shops that sell local delicacies. The hotel is near perfect, everything you need is right there at the lake. They bake their own bread, which you can buy separately if you want and have two shops that sell local delicacies. Parking there is no issue, there's enough space. The breakfast and dinner options are very good, high quality food and of course locally sourced game dishes and spirit drink. Just remember to take a few shots of Mummelsee Geist (which you can buy there) to ward off the evil spirits. A few downside pointers: The hotel Internet is free, but doesn't work very well in the entire hotel, there are weak spots. The shops close at 5pm on top of the hill, and the other nearest stores are all the way down in the nearest village. Be sure to do your shopping needs before that time.

My wife and I booked to stop here for 2 nights during a tour of the Black Forest. The hotel itself is in an idyllic location in the mountains and by a lake. My wife and I booked to stop here for 2 nights during a tour of the Black Forest. The hotel itself is in an idyllic location in the mountains and by a lake. Large car park but can be busy during the day. The rooms were large with a great view and powerful shower. The restaurant serves good food at a leisurely pace so you can spend the evening at the table without any time constraints. The downside was the weather. We stayed in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures reaching 39c during the day and still very warm at night. Our room faced west with full height glazing and no Air Conditioning so was unbearable. After the first night we reported the situation to reception, but the lady just shrugged and offered no solution, not even a fan. Therefore we said we could not stay a second night and checked out. No refund was offered for the early departure.
