I had actually booked another hotel for the same night in Aulendorf. However the original hotel had slipped up as they took a booking for a date when they were closed. As such they relocated me here and covers the difference in the cost. The hotel is fine if you are driving. However, I came by train and the original hotel was better suited. This one was a good 15 minutes walk uphill which on a very warm evening wasn't that good a start. The hotel looked big from the outside. The man on the reception desk was helpful in booking me in, showing me the room plus alternative route in after reception closed at 21:00. The room I had big. Clean double bed, cooking facilities, mini bar and very nice bathroom. It was however a little dim. WiFi worked well. Good breakfast the next morning which was a self service buffet with good choice. The hotel may well have had other facilities, however I never had any intention of using them. What I paid was a good price, personally if I had paid the full amount I hay have come away a little disappointed.

As we drove up to the hotel, the place looked run down. This impression was strengthened by the fact that the restaurant was not operational and that there seemed to be just one solitary member of staff. This was, by the way mid-August 2014. The room was clean, large and generally comfortable. Also the breakfast was fine. No complaints there. We only stayed one night, so we did not have the opportunity to fully use the wellness facilities, but our first impression was that it was a bit small, dark and not so welcoming. The fitness room looked ok. This hotel is only minutes away from a large thermal bath. We were glad to leave after just one night and I certainly would not recommend this place for a relaxed wellness break.
