My friend's son and family stayed overnight at the hotel and we joined them for breakfast. You could eat as much as you liked and the choice I have never see the like of, there were about 8 different cereals, different rolls and croissants and bread, different ham and cheese, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts salad so much to choose from. There were 12 different teas to choose from coffee, milk, orange juice the choice was endless I ate so much I did not need any lunch. The dining room and receptions rooms where immaculate and I certainly would stay there.

“Excellent Location”

‘Old’ Ettlingen is a beautiful medieval town with lots of eateries and photo opportunities at every corner, and Hotel Engel is right in the middle in a perfect location. ‘Old’ Ettlingen is a beautiful medieval town with lots of eateries and photo opportunities at every corner, and Hotel Engel is right in the middle in a perfect location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit basic and some are also quite dated - but they are clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit on the small side but I was only there (again) for one night, so who cares as long as it does the job? There are lots of restaurants nearby, including an ok Italian (Pizzaria Portobello) sharing the same courtyard. Last time I went I was impressed by Padellino restaurant all of one minutes walk away. Breakfast is basic stuff but ok. All in all considering the very reasonable price, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and great location it’s a winner.

“Good hotel with good location”

I recently stayed at the Engel hotel in Ettlingen. The hotel's location is great! Close to many things, such as restaurants, bars, train station, stores and more. Beds are not the best, but overall rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is really good and have plenty of choices to pick from.

“Convenient and Friendly”

Stayed here for 4 nights while on business in Ettlingen. The hotel is located right in the centre of Ettlingen and is very easily reachable by car. Stayed here for 4 nights while on business in Ettlingen. The hotel is located right in the centre of Ettlingen and is very easily reachable by car. The rooms are quite basic but the beds are comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast range is limited and is typical continental style of bread, meat, cheese, salad and rolls, and also cereal, fruit and Yoghurts. Not to my taste. If you want to park your car in the hotel car park you have to pay a surcharge for each day. My main issues with this hotel are: 1. No Coffee or Tea making facilities in the room. 2. No Fridge in the room. 3. No curtains so I had light coming in to the room from rooms opposite and street lighting the whole night which negatively impacted my sleep. These little things make a huge difference.
