“Fantastic Stay, can recommend”

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel last weekend and can only say how fantastic our stay was. The staff is friendly and helpful and the spa facilities are amazing. Can only recommend. Will definitely go again.

Greeted by a couple of ladies who did not seem to be expecting us, after a while all sorted. Room a long walk from reception. Had a balcony overlooking garden. Faded elegance comes to mind! Plenty room to sit outside in the gardens. The night we stayed a couple of men entertained with music and song. The evening meal was a buffet as well as the breakfast. Not very appetising, just the usual buffet menu. Breakfast was very basic. No staff about in morning. The young girl on the bar was very charming and helpful.

“Outdated but otherwise fine”

We booked on a whim as we were quite late and we only planned on staying for 2 nights. From the outside, the hotel looks kind of desolated. We booked on a whim as we were quite late and we only planned on staying for 2 nights. From the outside, the hotel looks kind of desolated. The paths were a bit over grown with weeds and maintenance seemed a bit behind. Faded glory are the words that came to mind. Upon entry there was no one at the front desk, which is logical as it was quite late. However we did arrive before the check in time stated on our reservation and we called in advance to confirm our time of arrival. We eventually found some one at the restaurant and were checked in. This man was kind and helpful but is was obvious that he didn't really know the ins and outs of the front desk. Our room and bathroom were a bit old fashioned,but spacious and comfortable. The beds were nice and the balcony was large. The hotel grounds are huge, but also not well maintained. We looked out on tall grass and some bushes. It is a shame that they don't make better use of this space. The hotel has a resort set up. As we weren't staying long, we didn't use any of the added activities. Amongst other things, there is a spa, with indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast was included and I have to say that this was quite good. Lots of different things to choose from and well regulated according to the covid regulations. The hotel is best reached by car. They do have lots of parking space, which is great. It would be a bit far to walk into the city centre of freudenstadt, but we found that you can easily park for free in the evenings. All in all; the hotel was fine for our purposes. We just wanted a place to sleep for a couple of days. If you are looking for a great resort, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. It looks like it was a great and modern place 10-20 years ago, but that it has fallen in to oblivion in recent times.

“Older hotel, good value”

This is an older hotel, and the rooms are average. It was nice to have a balcony for each room. We did eat the buffet for dinner one night, and it was nothing special, the chicken was dry and the choices were limited. The staff is friendly.
