“Delicious.....Great Hotel”

I would have a weekend meeting with friends in Freiburg, and instead stay in town decided to look for a nice play to stay around .... This hotel was fantastc, delicious, and make me feel in outside atmosphere of a small city. However we faced the following problem: I booked hotel 3 months in advance for 3 days, from Hotels.com site, but when arrived to check-in the reception could not find my reservation and hotel was all booked.....very strange. The owner/manager realized the situation and asked to keep my reservation paper, in meantime she was able to accomodate us in a Guest House, for a night, and then in next 2 days move to another double room. I felt very look that they were able to solve the problem. In 2nd day they move our luggage to new room, and was everything perfect. They probably solved the reservation issue with hotel reservation system as nobody mentioned anything more about it. Hotel is perfect, kind people, location very fine, and less than 10 minutes by car from Freiburg, Breakfast was great, with local food, and a nice open area just with small river in the side. Rooms were very well decorated. In summary was a great stay for us. Positive points - Staff attitude - Breakfast - Rooms - Free parking Negative: - Nothing To complete, in front of the hotel there are a flower field, where locals come to pick flowers....really a perfect hotel

I travel frequently to the area to visit elderly relatives in Freiburg and Gundelfingen. Once my aunt's health started to deteriorate, we looked for other options to stay, so as not to create additional work for her. We found this place and have stayed here ever since. Service is impeccable and friendly. The breakfast buffet is great. The rooms are always comfortable and immaculate. Each time I return, I am made to feel like I am returning "Home", can there be a better compliment?

“Good hotel just outside Freiburg”

Nice hotel, a bit quirky with lots of unusual ornaments and pictures. Friendly staff. We had half board and the food was delicious. Convenient parking across the road. 8 minute drive to Denzlingen where you can get frequent train into Freiburg- much better than driving. There is very little outsid… lisää

Nice hotel, a bit quirky with lots of unusual ornaments and pictures. Friendly staff. We had half board and the food was delicious. Convenient parking across the road. 8 minute drive to Denzlingen where you can get frequent train into Freiburg- much better than driving. There is very little outside sunny space at this hotel which was a shame. Nowhere to relax outside. However there is an inside swimming pool and sauna.

We have spent two nights at the Hotel Schwarzenberg. Room No 1 facing the small river which was very quiet. Great shower. We have spent two nights at the Hotel Schwarzenberg. Room No 1 facing the small river which was very quiet. Great shower. Bed a little hard and the pillows were useless - no real pillows just a bag of "fluff". Room has a fair size. We booked half pension which is a good idea as the food served in the evening is excellent. Beautiful presentation and great taste. The staff are friendly and helpul. The wellness area is to be desired. You find a pool upstairs and two saunas and infrared cabine downstairs. The latter was never switched on and it on when we were there. The set up is not very good as there is no sign upstairs explaining that there is a "nadked zone" downstairs. Sometimes you have kids from the pool running downstairs - not a good ideal !!!!! The bar is also not located well, in between the kitchen and the dinning room. They do cater for your evening meal but after this they forget about you. No cosy place to enjoy an evening drink. This place has the potential to make more out of it, but probably due to cost savings they dont.
