“Great Place to stay and eat”

We loved it! Was a quaint older hotel. Room was very nice, and very clean. We had a great meal at the restaurant and sat outside for hours enjoying the evening. We loved it! Was a quaint older hotel. Room was very nice, and very clean. We had a great meal at the restaurant and sat outside for hours enjoying the evening. They gave us each an appetizer which we thought was because we were Americans. Turns out everyone got it! lol We had a laugh over that! Breakfast was included in the morning and it was very good. I'd go back there again and stay a little longer then one night.

A super Hotel to use if you want to explore the mid part of the Black Forest. Situated in the suburbs of Offenburg in Fessenbach, the hotel was easy to find and had good car parking. A super Hotel to use if you want to explore the mid part of the Black Forest. Situated in the suburbs of Offenburg in Fessenbach, the hotel was easy to find and had good car parking. Within 10 minutes walk of the edge of the Black Forest and on the Ortenau Wine Road, you can easily leave the car behind and either walk or bike round. The on-site restaurant is open 7 days in high season and is very good. Buffet breakfast good. English spoken or understood. The room was spotless complete with a silent minibar fridge ! I found the road outside busy enough to notice with a good deal of agricultural traffic rumbling round both early and late. And yes, I would use the hotel again if I wanted to visit the area, it gave me an excellent base to go out from. Recommended.

“Very Average Hotel”

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with my stay at the Hotel Traube. My first disappointment was the lack of parking. There are only 8 spaces available in which to park. I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with my stay at the Hotel Traube. My first disappointment was the lack of parking. There are only 8 spaces available in which to park. As a business traveler, I usually return later than most. I was never able to find a free space. Finding a place to park in the neighborhood is not easy. Next, the restaurant at the Hotel is permanently closed. This meant that I had to drive somewhere for my evening meal. Although I found some very nice restaurants, this is not very convenient. My room faced the road. The noise early in the morning and late in the evening was very noticeable. At the time of my stay, the day time temperatures reached 30-32 degrees. When I returned to my room, it was very, very warm. Since the room was on the ground floor and faced the main road, I could not leave the windows open to cool the room unless I was there. On the brighter side, the location is quite nice. It lays only a five minute drive from the center of Offenburg. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful. I was treated very nice by the hotel staff. The breakfast was very nice and had sufficient variety and quantity of food. All in all, now that I know what is there, I will probably stay there again. On balance, the favorable price and location out-weigh the negatives of the property.
