Gasthaus zum Engel

“A good stopover”

We travel a bit from Germany to France and have found this gasthaus a good place to rest and have a good dinner. Their rooms are comfortable and their restaurant is top notch. Traditional fare and freshly prepared. They make the beer on sight...another plus. Recommend this gasthaus.

“Super place to relax and great restaurant”

Found this gasthaus online....great find. The city of Rastatt is north of Baden Baden ... And much easier to navigate than Baden. The rooms were super comfortable and a good size. Found this gasthaus online....great find. The city of Rastatt is north of Baden Baden ... And much easier to navigate than Baden. The rooms were super comfortable and a good size. Though the rooms are located in an adjacent building over the parking, access was easy to the gasthaus restaurant. The restaurant served traditional food and was simply delicious....we had dinner there both nights of our stay. I had a schnitzel with mushroom gravy and spaetzle and salad....all freshly prepared and yummy. My husband had venison medallions in sauce with spiced red cabbage and spaetzle. We drank great beer brewed on the premises.

“Reasonable Accommodation”

We recently stayed at this hotel recently and found that it provides very good accommodation at a very reasonable price. We recently stayed at this hotel recently and found that it provides very good accommodation at a very reasonable price. The hotel is in more or less the centre of Rastatt, very close to the old town. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very enjoyable and well worth the price. The restaurant provides a limited but excellent menu and is well worth availing of. My only disappointment was that the WiFi did not work in our room.

“Good stay for a night”

We stayed at this hotel during our way back from Italy and the room was OK. Had a family room which we really did not need. We stayed at this hotel during our way back from Italy and the room was OK. Had a family room which we really did not need. As it was Saterday evening we woke up whena lot of youngsters went screaming down the street at the back for about twenty minutes so it is not really well isolated. There is a parking underneath the hotel which is nice and secure so you can leave your luggage in the car. The food was average as we do not appreciate the German kitchen that much but have to eat there as there was some festival taking place andi all other restaurants were fully booked for 7 o'clock in the evening. The bad thing in the bathroom is that it got a curtain and when taking a shower it will stick to your body. All in all it is nice to stay for just one night.

I usually stay in another hotel in Rastatt but were looking for a cheaper solution. The hotel is located in the heart of Rastatt near to the market and shops. I usually stay in another hotel in Rastatt but were looking for a cheaper solution. The hotel is located in the heart of Rastatt near to the market and shops. The rooms are clean and rather comfortable located in a separate building. Rooms are a bit outdated but good enough for a few nights stay. Personel is friendly and speak English. Breakfast was not very extensive but value for money. A big plus was the underground parking garage, free of charge for hotel guests. I couldn't have dinner in the restaurant as this was fully booked which is good for the hotel although a pity for me and my guests as we had to find another restaurant. All with all a friendly family hotel less suited for business stays.
