The Gastof Ochsen hotel / BB, is a wonderful bed and breakfast style restaurant / hotel in the old downtown part of Ravensburg. It was quaint, clean, with recently remodeled bedrooms. The restaurant was old style, and very cool! The breakfast was specially prepared to our liking, with orders placed the night before. I highly recommend this hotel / BB for vacation travelers who want to see the lovely city of Ravensburg. Just home now in the USA, and we miss it already.

“Nice”

Really a nice Hotel. Located closed to the city center and the Marienplatzgarage. The rooms are really lovely, very nice bath, comfortable room with enough space. Also the breakfast is very nice, with fresh made coffe from the mashine. Free WiFi in the Hotel

“Place to eat”

Just happened to run into this place on a shopping venture and walked in. The service and food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Would definately return another time for a repeat experience.

“Room number 215 should not be offered to guests....”

Stayed for 3 nights booked by my company' Division in Ravensburg. First the positives: Locatedat the city centre. Stayed for 3 nights booked by my company' Division in Ravensburg. First the positives: Locatedat the city centre. Mr Wolfgang ( family name not known) their owner is the BEST positive point with his friendliness and readiness to help out. In no time, he organised a fan and a hot water kettle requested by me. Breakfast was good but the usual fare in such hotels. A public pay and park facility is nearby. Now the negatives experienced: With prior intimation of a check in on a Sunday arrived from Mumbai at the hotel after a tiring journey and long transit at Frankfurt via the nearest airport Friedrichshafen to see the front doors locked. After knocking for sometime and failing to get any response to the call I made to their landline number provided in the booking confirmation, saw a mobile number on the door and got Wolfgang at last after 12 minutes of struggling. The allotted room of 215 is a space made out of nowhere and a single bed provided. You can not go around the bed as the slope of the roof makes you crawl if you have to go around. No wardrobe and did not know where to keep clothes. No intercom phone at all forcing me to either go down to reception for any requirement or use my own handy to make an expensive international call to get connected to their person.As no place in wash room, napkin, soap etc kept in a basket was kept below the wash basin. When took up these hardships with the owner lady ( do not know her name), she simply said that I should blame my company as they booked a single room. Later on when I informed my company, they wondered how they can even offer such a room to any guest that too at the exorbitant 90 Euro per night rate! Again the company was blamed for my hardship in getting entry as she observed that my company should have informed about check in details. They have a booking for a Sunday but feel there is no need to caution the guest or the one who booked about their rule of keeping doors locked on a Sunday. Her attitude was strange and at one point of our deliberations, she audaciously even asked me whether I would like to check out, indirectly suggesting me to get out if I do not feel comfortable. In her opinion, whatever she feels is only right. Surprisingly, she did not extend respect normally extended to a client that too who is a senior citizen. They changed my room to a double bed room on the second day ( do not know whether at any extra cost as the bill was settled by my company) and was better, although there also you have to unfold and hung your clothes openly in the absence of a wardrobe. The curtains of both the rooms can not be open even an inch as the adjacent building is just open to your room denying privacy. There should be a rule by Government about the size and facilities to be provided to charge 90 Euros for a room like their Room number 215, which should have been their store room. I wish I never get into a situation to stay again in this hotel. Rtn.J.Ganesh
