“Absolutely fabulous”

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on our way home (family room, family with 2 adults - 2 children, 6 & 8) & we had dinner over there in the evening (absolutely recommended to do). We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on our way home (family room, family with 2 adults - 2 children, 6 & 8) & we had dinner over there in the evening (absolutely recommended to do). Very friendly service in general. Our room was very spacious, spotless & had a balcony with a superb view & shutters on all the windows. The restaurant had a very good price/quality, very friendly service & amazing views. When we stayed over there the wheater was good & it was really busy, but all of the staff was super friendly all the time. The location is absolutely superb. Really quiet. A part of me would like to keep this lovely hotel a secret all to myself, but that wouldn't be honest. Absolutely recommended when you look for a quiet place in the black forest with possibilities to hike in the region. Important if you want to have dinner: make a reservation (It's quite busy, also local people come over there) and don't be too late. At 9 pm they start to close.

“Evening meal”

Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to stay here as they were fully booked, but we did have a fantastic meal here. Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to stay here as they were fully booked, but we did have a fantastic meal here. The waiter that served us was extremely helpful and was fluent in English, which helped immensely as I'm vegetarian and my wife is vegan. The food was excellent and hearty, which is exactly what we needed after a full day of walking on the Westweg. I had the Spätzle and whilst I've eaten this in various locations in Germany, this one was the best. As I'm not a native I don't know how true it is to traditional Spätzle, but it was rich, full of flavour and a good portion size. The location is also fantastic, so it's a wonderful place to have an after dinner stroll to burn off some of those calories! If you're unable to get a room here, as they're booked up (not surprising), then there's a hostel within a few minutes walk.

“Perfect in every way...”

There's not much else to say when you visit somewhere that literally has no faults, I think it's a family run business and every member of staff is friendly and can't do enough to make you feel welcome, the rooms are large, clean (in fact spotless) and we'll presented with absolutely stunning views… lisää

There's not much else to say when you visit somewhere that literally has no faults, I think it's a family run business and every member of staff is friendly and can't do enough to make you feel welcome, the rooms are large, clean (in fact spotless) and we'll presented with absolutely stunning views over the Black Forest. The restaurant serves a good range of food at a reasonable price and the location just finishes off the whole package...perfect.

“Good, but Beware the Bus Tours!”

Overall, this was a good overnight spot on our West Way journey, but some improvements to the morning service are needed. Dinner stands out as the best part of our stay. Overall, this was a good overnight spot on our West Way journey, but some improvements to the morning service are needed. Dinner stands out as the best part of our stay. Both the Greek Salad and Goulash were well done. The host of the evening "Flog" provided friendly and attentive service. Our bedroom was spacious and quiet, so we slept okay. Breakfast was delayed 30 minutes while the hostess prepared tables for a twenty-person bus tour. Then the buffet ran out of rolls, pastries, and eggs because it was understocked for such a large group. And after all that, it took nearly fifteen minutes to check-out.
