What a great place with a lot of character ! Be prepared for the interesting room design with the bath very much part of the room !! Not sure that the design will suit everyone and not practical for those that like showers. Everything was immaculate and the attention to detail was of particular high quality. We were made very welcome and helped in every way to enjoy our brief stay, including details of how to access the beach for lake swimming plus towels supplied and recommendations for local eating in the village of Sipplingen - only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is set back off the main road so a quiet night's sleep is had. Breakfast was excellent with, again, attention to detail and the feeling that you were a special guest. Champagne was also on offer although not sure if it was an extra. The hotel also had a small swimming pool, sauna and gym which we enjoyed after our lake dip. Good equipment in rooms but watch that the radio doesn't go off at 0700 ! Cosy place with homely atmosphere. Not cheap at 85 Euros each but worth the money.

This little gem is settled right across of Constance Lake with beautiful views to it from the terrace where the breakfast is served and some rooms as well. This little gem is settled right across of Constance Lake with beautiful views to it from the terrace where the breakfast is served and some rooms as well. It has all the amenities that not even a 5* has,including an small espresso coffee machine in the rooms! Is located in the small little town of Sipplingen and 4 miles away from Uberlingen a major hub to visit the area. This boutique hotel with 9 rooms only open it's door this 2012 season after a major renovation. Every room has been done up to detail. The owner told us they made the place like "the one they would like to be while in vacation" .It has a sauna and an amazing swimming pool, spacious rooms tastefully decorated and a breakfast to die for. Parking is also included. The owners and their personnel is extremely kind and eager to help in any request. We couldn't be happier with Lupinen Hotel, highly recommendable.

Yes, when rating a hotel is counting up all they offer this is a 4 star hotel. Much of this rating is there. Yes, when rating a hotel is counting up all they offer this is a 4 star hotel. Much of this rating is there. But we stayed in one of nine: Friedrichhafen: for this room there are major drawbacks: for 2 persons willing to stay on their room for watching television or reading a book, or writing then the space is too little; the small table with chair isn't a place to sit longer than 10 minutes and put a laptop with some A4 paper together. Wanting to see television with two persons is not comforting. : one has a reasonbly comfortable chair but the other needs to sit/ lay on the bed. The position of the television is left from the bed. This problem shows that the room actually is too small for two persons. The free standing Bath tub is spectaculair but dangerous to get out of if you aren't top fit. Also the shower attached is not easy to manage on your own and of course allows for spilling water outside the tub with stands close to the bed, happily with glass in between. Althought the television has more than 100 broadcasts we only were able to list them in alfabetical order. . Breakfast is nice and can be indivually arranged. The personnel is good willing and attentive but lacks training to give the professional or self-reluctant touch. The view to the lake from this room is limited. Happly enough the room is quit. But why are the curtains to close the day light too short? Happily this hotel is the first with the new toilet which cleans with water.
