We stayed in this hotel last year and for a short 2 days again this year until it was hit by the floods. The Fischer am See is one of the most original hotels you will find in Prien, Family run with an excellent atmosphere, beautiful views of the lake and the Kampenwand, and I believe all rooms have generous balconies. The rooms are well equipped, the bed a great compromise, neither too hard nor soft. The decor is not overly boutique but everything is of a very high quality finish. I have rarely seen a hotel as clean as this. The breakfast was excellent and one of the main selling points. I am used to pretty basic breakfasts in Germany, but the owners don't put any stops out here and there's rarely a better buffet selection. The location is not for clubbing, but for those that seek relaxation. It is right next to the lake, between the camping ground and swimming areas. Wonderful for walks and extremely quiet at night. The local restaurant is highly recommended and I'd easily eat here every night rather than finding a place elsewhere in town. The variety is wonderful, each dish cooked to perfection and the fresh fish has probably only landed on the shore 50 yards away form the hotel the same morning.

“Convenient”

I stayed there for two nights, the hotel I assume owner was extremely sweet and helpful. There isn't much around the hotel but for me location was perfect for the reasons of my visit. I stayed there for two nights, the hotel I assume owner was extremely sweet and helpful. There isn't much around the hotel but for me location was perfect for the reasons of my visit. What i liked alot is the beds! extremely comfortable I had a very good two nights sleep. The price was perfect too! They also gave me a discount per night when they learned that my stay will be for one person only rather than two in the room (booked originally for two!).

“Friendly with good food”

We stayed here for a stopover last April on the train journey from Munich to Salzburg. The hotel is set in a secluded spot, but right next to the lake, a short taxi ride from the station. We stayed here for a stopover last April on the train journey from Munich to Salzburg. The hotel is set in a secluded spot, but right next to the lake, a short taxi ride from the station. Although we arrived a little early we were given a room without any need to wait around. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful with a reasonable command of English. The room was very spacious and comfortable but unfortunately we didn't have a lake view. Having spent some time in town of Chiemsee and also the palace on the island of Herrenchiemsee, we both decided that we should eat our evening meal in the hotel restaurant. The food turned out to be the best we had on the trip and the service excellent. The only disappointment was that for practical reasons, we were unable to buy some of the very tempting fish at the small adjacent shop which sold the locally caught fish, which is smoked on the premises.

“Nice fish lunch in between Munich and Salzburg”

This restaurant It is a good option if you want to experience a traditional fish restaurant in Germany. Simple but tasty meal and really kind service. Good for a lunch stop in between Salzburg and Munich !
