Isar Hotel

“Come for the night, stay for the breakfast!”

Quick one night stop which we chose for its proximity to the airport. Quiet location - even the Uber driver had trouble locating it. Easy access out of the city, clean room and the most fantastic traditional Bavarian breakfast! So much choice.

This hotel is in a very good location. The rooms are priced just right for the area ! The breakfast buffet has something for every taste,to include fresh orange juice that you can prepair yourself ! ( the only negative was the receptionist.....maybe she had a bad day ? )

The Isar Hotel is an adequate alternative for travelers flying out of MUC. The rooms (had a double room) are basic hotel type rooms (aka no ambiance). The Isar Hotel is an adequate alternative for travelers flying out of MUC. The rooms (had a double room) are basic hotel type rooms (aka no ambiance). Bed could have been a bit more comfortable and squeezed whenever I adjusted my position. an additional set of pillows and towel were stored in the wardrobe. No microwave and no fridge. Plenty of lights though which is nice. Bathroom was of ample size though the shower was on the size of a cruise ship shower - very small. Water temperature did fluctuate a little. Check in was efficient and the staff was friendly. There is a seafood restaurant attached to the hotel which I didn't try (and it isn't open on Mondays). Location wise the Hotel was a bit further from the bahnhof that I thought. Took 15 to 20 minutes to walk. Cabs are available at the station. There are a few restaurants nearby but you really have to walk back (and forth) to the old town for the best options. Breakfast was included in my stay (only ate once as I had to catch an early flight out from MUC on day 2 and left before the breakfast room opened). The food was ok, not great. No pretzels to my disappointment. Otherwise pretty typical fare for German hotels. There were no English language TV stations. Wifi was available in the room though speed was dubious at best. On the plus side, two nights here was nearly the same price as one night at the airport Hilton where I usually stay.

What we liked: Polite and courteous checkin reception staff Very clean rooms and communal areas Plenty of storage Only a 15 minute drive to the airport, yet no noise of aircraft heard inside the hotel Adjacent restaurant that can be accessed within the hotel reception area What we didn't like: The bathroom was rather small and the bathroom door stuck on the floor which made entering and exiting a challenge There wasn't air conditioning, but a pedestal fan had been placed in the room. The breakfast options were rather limited and we had concerns around the refrigeration of some of the chilled products like yogurts etc.
