This is a small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. Located about 20 km south of Munich in the tranquil little town of Gauting, and 10 km north of the "Starnberger See", it is a perfect starting point to visit Munich, only 25mn away by train. The station is about one kilometer away, an easily walkable distance, and trains run at least three times an hour until late at night.It's also a little over one hour to reach the Neuschwanstein castle and the surrounding villages have a serene and quiet atmosphere about them. The Andechs abbey for example is well worth a stop. There is private guest parking available in the front of the hotel and there is little traffic so no nuisances there. We slept like babies and felt heartily welcome. Rooms were equipped with typical Bavarian wooden furniture and were spotlessly, and I mean spotlessly clean. Bathrooms too ( we had two rooms). Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of teas, fruits, yogurts, cereals, eggs, cheese, delicatessen, various sorts of bread. Best way to start the day! All told everything was perfect!

We stayed here for three days during Oktoberfest and enjoyed our stay. You truly get the feeling of being part of the family and a valued guest here. The hotel is small, the staff super friendly and helpful, including helping us with directions, train tickets on site and just enjoying general conversation. They also have an evening reception where guests enjoy wine or other beverage of choice and good conversations. The grounds are lovely and the breakfast was yummy. It is a quick walk to the train station and only a 20 minute ride into the heart of the city.

Our suite was a very good size with a sitting room inside, and breakfast was lovely (selection of breads, German meats and cheese, cereals and fruit). The hotel is an easy walk to the S-Bahn station so we walked with our bags to the hotel. The staff are very friendly and made us a pot of tea when we requested it (no kettle in the room), as well as recommending things for us to do. We would definitely stay here again if coming back to the area.

“Good location, nice breakfast”

4 1/2 stars. The location is in a nice neighborhood just outside of Munich. The Bahnhof (Train Station) is about a 5 minute walk. The hotel sells train tickets. This is a very easy way to see Munich. 4 1/2 stars. The location is in a nice neighborhood just outside of Munich. The Bahnhof (Train Station) is about a 5 minute walk. The hotel sells train tickets. This is a very easy way to see Munich. The hotel has beer and wine for purchase after a long day of sightseeing. My wife and I ended every day with a glass of wine and a World Cup game. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. All of the staff really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was simple but very nice German (quality meat, cheese and rolls with some cereal selection) fair.
