Optimally located across from the 'free' regional bus stop, this hotel is a great jumping off point for adventures. Our room in the new section was large and had a desk, kitchen table and low table. The last was perfect to pack our gear everynight. We used the desk as a recharging station and the kitchen table as a desk to work from at night. The kitchen area had a refrigerator allowing us chill our bottled water. Seems a small thing, but when your crushing it up those trails having cool drinks to come back to is sweet. The parking is plentiful and well organized. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They helped us plan our adventures, explained the bus system and were warm and welcoming. I've read reviews about stuffy and warm rooms in the afternoon and smoking neighbors. My advice is to ignore these. If you are spending your afternoon in the room instead of exploring, biking, or hiking this fantastic region, you are doing it wrong. The rooms are a bit warmer in the afternoon ... you know sunlight, but it's the mountains it is cooler to cold in the evening, perfect for sleeping off the hike and evening's beer. And yes the patios are used by some guests to smoke. It turns out that other people can be annoying. I don't smoke. I hate smoke but did not find the smoke that much of an issue.

The hotel is easy to find with ample free car parking. The views of the surrounding mountains are lovely. The staff are lovely and speak good English. The rooms are large, well appointed, clean, comfortable and very quiet. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the night we stayed (although booking.com and the hotels own website said it was open) so we popped to a local supermarket to stock up on bread, cheese and cold meats. Breakfast was very good. Although we didn’t have time to use it the pool looked very inviting.

The hotel is walking distance from the Koenigssee and a quick drive from Berchtesgaden. From the moment we checked in, I really enjoyed this hotel. The hotel is walking distance from the Koenigssee and a quick drive from Berchtesgaden. From the moment we checked in, I really enjoyed this hotel. The woman attending the front desk was new but could not have been more sweet. The building itself and the decor had a very authentic feel to it. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. We had a balcony that overlooked the valley and surrounding mountains. The breakfast in the morning was great. I would gladly stay here again.

Friendly Hotel with a mix of German-speaking and Russian-speaking guests. The room in the new building was spacious, clean and in very good condition and had a small terrace looking to the West. Large bathroom. However, some nights it was difficult to catch enough sleep, because guests in neighbouring rooms were talking loudly until night (walls seem to be thin) or kept on sitting and talking loudly on their terraces and balconies above. Noisy corridors. The restaurant had to operate under COVID-19-restrictions, which was well organised (staff wore face masks, few guests admitted, no self-service buffet). However, most of the restaurant staff did not give the impression of being trained professionals.
