I loved it there! Spent weekend in Guestrow recently. Very nice villa, very tastefully decorated and super-friendly personal service. Very good German breakfast. Nice living room with books and nice garden to sit in in the evening. Very well located for walking into the city centre (Dom, Schloss,Barlach Gertrude chapel). You can rent bikes and cycle to Inselsee for a swim and visit Barlach museum. Also nice location for visiting Wismar and Rostock and great location as on cycle path berlin-copenhagen.

Pleasant enough stay, the place has its charmes, owner is very helpful and appears to run the place pretty much by himself (?!) - and lives in-house. Breakfast was solid but definitely not memorable, as you would expect for a smallish somewhat old school small hotel. Bicycles could be stored behind the gate in the courtyard, which was welcome.

This B&B is everything you expect plus a nice garden to sit in (and with plenty of space to keep your bicycles). It's a little away from the town centre but walkable (or even more easily cyclable - the €5 per day bikes available are just the thing for local sights). Breakfast is a traditional north German buffet; rooms are not large but adequate and you get a communal minibar plus honesty book for beer, wine and soft drinks. Honest, straightforward, clean, free wifi ok, a little lacking in character but to be recommended.

Despite the name the Villa Camenz is a pension with everything that implies. I am not particularly fond of pensions due to its intense and personal touch, but when arriving I wished more of it. Despite the name the Villa Camenz is a pension with everything that implies. I am not particularly fond of pensions due to its intense and personal touch, but when arriving I wished more of it. The woman greeting us was not particularly friendly and showed us our room without much talk. In fact, we received absolutely no information about how to walk to town, if we could use the garden, about parking (we parked in the street in front of the villa) about the WiFi etc. Speaking of which, the WiFi was absolutely useless as I could not access anything. I do not understand the point of offering an access when it's so limited. We were placed in the new building and the room had little of the style and elegance we saw in the villa. The room was quite small and the furniture somewhat clunky and dominating, although clean. The breakfast was not overwhelming but fresh and appetizing.
