The location is one of the main advantages of this hotel - well placed for the promenade, beach and pier. The room we had was new and functional - nothing fancy but everything one needs in a resort of this sort. And it included the benefit of a small kitchen area - but why eat in when there are many options a short walk away?!?!? Enjoy a typical Baltic 'strand Korb' at the front of the hotel - for breakfast, lunch, evening drinks or whatever suits you. The Spa was welcome - with a simple pool together with steam rooms and sauna. This hotel can therefore be recommended as providing all you are likely to want in this location - without the frippery and prices of some of the fancier places!!!

We celebrated our 26th anniversary with a short trip to Usedom on the southern shore of the Baltic Sea and had come across a recommendation of the Das Ahlbeck in a magazine. Booking via the Internet was a bit of a confusing story (I have seen worse user experiences, rarely though) — we gave up on their internet site and gave them a call: Very efficient and friendly and we had quickly booked our three nights and got the confirmation via email shortly after. Usedom is rather well connected to the German rail network and we got there just fine. The landscape is fantastic with cliffs, sandy beaches and the three empire sea side towns of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin. The hotel is close to the railway station Ostseetherme Ahlbeck if you intend to come by train. Check-in was very friendly and efficient, our apartment was facing to the west with a side window going out to the sea. Very nicely decorated, very spacious and featuring a gas-powered fireplace! We had booked half-board and really enjoyed the food — both dinner and breakfast. Staff is very friendly but could be a bit more attentive (getting the check to sign or ordering another beer was sometimes a bit of a patience game). All in all we did enjoy our stay tremendously: very nice room, very friendly staff, good location, very good food. We have already booked our next stay!

We went for a wellness weekend and booked several packages. Upon arrival, the receptionist explained everything very well, provided the vouchers and recommended the best table to book. We went for a wellness weekend and booked several packages. Upon arrival, the receptionist explained everything very well, provided the vouchers and recommended the best table to book. Firelplaxe room, right next to the fireplace. Good recommendation. Friendly staff, decent food. The single pool is spacious and they have a jet bath, but unfortunately not a jacuzzi. The spa area has several saunas plus a steam bath. For a couple of days wellnes, a perfect place. If you stay longer and are not a beach person, you soon run out of options. In easy reach from Berlin and Hamburg within a few hours.
