The hotel is absolute a five star hotel. Top professional employees, picked up our car and bring our luggage to the room, then parked the car at the private parking place. The hotel is absolute a five star hotel. Top professional employees, picked up our car and bring our luggage to the room, then parked the car at the private parking place. Lovely suite, clean and comfortable. The German breakfast buffet is top class. The swimming pool at the top roof is the best I ever have seen. The host came and asked us in the evening, if every thing was all right and asked what we have done to day. Nice, but the hotel kitchen for dinner is absolutely not a five star hotel worth. Chose other local restaurants and pay the half for the same quality. Sad because the hotel is absolute a hotel you should try.

Ruegen is a beautiful island on the Baltic coast about the size of the UK's Isle of Wight. Visitors to the island are still overwhelmingly from Germany but it deserves much wider attention with its beaches and facilities for walking and cycling. We were welcomed at the hotel with a glass of prosecco whilst the receptionist valet parked our car and took our luggage to the room. We found that breakfast was a really good German buffet with a short-order chef to prepare egg and other dishes to order. Dinner was very good and is probably the best hotel dinner on the island with a good wine list to match. Service at breakfast and dinner was both friendly and efficient ( though one course was inexplicably delayed one evening). The pool, wellness and spa areas are very new and really excellent. It was just surprising that more guests weren't using them especially as the weather was wet on a couple of days. The room unfortunately was less good. It was a split level room with a comfortable bed and plenty of hanging space but the bathroom was minute and the shower was micro- sized with doors that only half opened before jamming against the WC. There was a kettle and cups in a kind of kitchenette but no tea or coffee provided and the mini bar was not serviced for the last 2 days of our stay. We didn't have time to make a call to reception and wait for it to be sorted. WiFi is available in room. It is a strange system which we've never seen before but the main thing is it works. Overall, we liked the hotel and would go back there though I think I'd be more demanding in respect of the room
