We arrived at the hotel by taxi and were soon booked in. The room was perfect - basic but very clean, and I liked the balcony. I was disappointed there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but there was always someone available to make excellent coffee in the dining area, and we took it back to the room. The bathroom was clean, albeit quite small (how much room do you need to shower - no great issue!) and there were plenty of clean towels available. The food can only be described as awesome. This hotel is a three star hotel, but the food is way above this! I always opted for the meat option, and I can only say the taste was incredible - good honest home cooked food. Breakfast was good also - breads, fresh rolls, jams, honey, cold meats, cereal etc. If you want an English breakfast, forget it - you are in Germany after all! The coffee was always served fresh and piping hot. There was a selection of fresh fruit juices to choose from. We enjoyed an unhurried breakfast each day, with a pleasant view over the countryside. The bar was good as well - I ordered a large beer, a camomile tea and a shot of Jaegermeister - and it came to 7 euros, which I was more than happy with. There are excellent walks directly behind the hotel - quiet forest walks. You can easily walk into Bad Driburg in 20 minutes. Personally I loved this quiet, family-run hotel (my partner visits it regularly) and my one complaint, which is an extremely serious one, is that we didn't book a long enough stay!

Great location for the race track with friendly service I stayed here for a work event as it’s close to the Bilster Berg race track – just a 15-minute drive with easy access by car. Great location for the race track with friendly service I stayed here for a work event as it’s close to the Bilster Berg race track – just a 15-minute drive with easy access by car. My single room was comfortable, with a balcony and sofa. The bathroom was on the small side, but I have to say the shower pressure was incredible – like a jet wash on full power! The shutters on the windows and doors were excellent, something I haven’t seen before and a really nice touch. Breakfast was the standard German style – simple but efficient. The hotel restaurant, however, is on another level, serving top-quality food. That said, after a week, I found myself craving something a bit more casual like pizza or a burger and fries. Service was excellent – the room was cleaned daily, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. Parking was free and straightforward, and the hotel is only a 3-minute drive into town. A few small downsides: I’d have liked a coffee or tea-making machine in the room (especially as a Brit!). The bathroom, while functional, was quite small. An extra pillow would have been nice. A menu or drinks list in the room would be useful, as I wasn’t sure if room service was available. In-room entertainment could be improved with options like Sky or Netflix. Overall: A clean, tidy hotel with friendly staff, great food, and an excellent location for the race track. Wi-Fi worked well in the rooms, and it was easy to park. I’d definitely stay again for work or events nearby.
