“The real gem is the restaurant!”

I had chosen Bad Ems as a stopover on my way to Dresden: easy access and charm. It had both! People at the hotel were friendly and professional, but the real gem is the restaurant. Very unpretentious, but with great food and friendly service.

Nice and friendly staff. Nice room at the back of the hotel. There is no airco and it is was warm. That's why we choose for the back of the hotel. Breakfast is standard. Price range is middleclass. Ok. for one night

Beautiful location and lovely views. Nice , natural smells by infusions in the sauna area. Good, hot Aufgüsse provided by a professional Bader master. Tasty and affordable food in the restaurant. Fast service. I really liked the salt infusion room and back heated seats. What I didn't like: people smoking everywhere outside: there was no designated smoking area. So, you jus relaxing after a sauna ceremony, and someone, just next to you smoking. Terrible. Also there is no indoor pool in the sauna area, only 1 outdoor. The water was not ready warm to enjoy it. It may be alright in the summer, but on the windy rainy cold day it's not nice. There are plenty of mineral water pools in the Aquapark area, but you need to wear a sweming sweet and area is very crowded.

The Hotel Bad Emser Hof is a traditional, older hotel which located directly on the river Lahn. We occupied a spacious double room with mountain view. The mountain view was literally a direct sight at a rock wall behind the hotel with no view at all. The furnishing was not new but considerably well maintained. The bed offered a good night's sleep. WiFi worked perfectly. A kettle is placed in the room, but during our three nights stay the coffee, milk and sugar were only replenished after calling the room service. A safe and a fridge are missing. The bath room would need some renovation. It is equipped with a bathtub. The room cleaning was only superficial and a more intense cleaning would be advisable. The breakfast buffet is abundant. The servers courteous and attentive. The breakfast room offers a beautiful view on the banks of the river Lahn. The hotel has an Italian restaurant which we did not visit. There is a small spa area with a sauna. Free parking from 18.00 until 08:00 was possible along the Lahn. The hotel has a parking lot with a narrow entrance. The parking fee is € 6.50 per day.
