“Fantastic location, clean and awesome breakfast”

Excellent location, comfortable room and outstanding breakfast. The breakfast had great breads, warm eggs and vegetables, a nice fruit salad, lots of muesli options, good coffee and more. “Great hotel in the centre of Speyer.”

We spent a couple of nights in this great hotel. The breakfast was outstanding and each night we had an excellent meal, and great beer, in the adjacent Hausbrauerei Domhof. Both are highly recommended.

“Great Location, Comfortable Rooms, Awesome Food”

The quick summary - we had a 3 night stay and it was really (unexpectedly) perfect. We knew that the location was good, but we were also delighted with the room and the food at the hotel’s attached restaurant. The cherry on the top was the lovely hotel courtyard - a huge tranquil space with multiple shaded seating options where you can have a quiet drink, read your book or have a cozy chat with friends. We loved it all. Some more details - The location could not be better in my opinion. The hotel is just off the main square in front of the cathedral, right in the heart of the attractive, old part of town. It’s the perfect base for exploring the town, but you’re also very quickly out of town onto the ring road if you want to drive out to tour the local wine route. Being based in Holland, we also think this location is a perfect stopover point if you’re heading from Holland towards Switzerland, Austria or northern Italy. It’s a very short detour off the motorway, and at the perfect midpoint. The hotel offers excellent parking options - an outside area that is free and accommodates about 20 cars and then an underground car park which holds about 15 cars and costs Eur 12.50. You can ask the hotel to reserve you a space, which is probably a good idea in the high season. We were especially delighted with our room. The bed was very comfortable and we thought the bathroom was well designed, with a lovely walk-in shower. We were also very happy with the room temperature. Because of the courtyard (and its many trees), we found that the room never got too hot, and even without an a/c we were very comfortable. We had our small dog with us so we were given a ground floor room which was perfect for taking her out for walks and toilet breaks. The final thumbs up was the availability of Netflix on the TV, so we could log in and watch a few shows on the one evening that we didn’t head out. For food, the hotel is next to (and co-owned with) a local brewery/restaurant (with beer garden). It was awesome!! We had booked a dinner there for our first evening, but were such fans that we ended up doing 2 lunches in the beer garden and 2 dinners in the restaurant during our 3 day stay. Breakfast is served in the actual hotel, and partially in the courtyard if the weather is nice. The breakfast was nice, but not exceptional. The serving staff at both the breakfast and the brewery restaurant were charming and very helpful. Finally a word about the service. We thought it was very good. All our interactions were positive. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the cleaning staff were also very good because the room was spotless. We took advantage of the lovely weather during our stay and sat a lot in the courtyard. There always seemed to be someone around to ask if you wanted a drink. Overall, service was friendly, professional and unobtrusive.

“Highly Recommend: Great Hotel and Location-”

I recently spent 2 weeks at this lovely hotel. Super clean, big beautiful windows that open and the staff was friendly and kind. I highly recommend. “Welcoming”

Beautiful old coaching Inn type residence in the center of Speyer, a stones throw from the historic cathedral. Clean, comfortable and well appointed, the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
