We booked this room at around 3pm and arrived about 4pm. It was a last minute booking after we decided we’d had enough driving for the day. We didn’t expect much, we just wanted somewhere to rest. We arrived and were greeted by a lovely receptionist who’s name escapes me now. He immediately knew where we were from and took the time to look up our home-town and talk about our journey. Taking the time to talk to us and not just throw a key at us. By far the most friendly welcome we’ve had of all the hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We went up to our room (100) and found we were in a suite. We had a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. The room was big, ceiling high, and everything was clean. The fridge came in handy on a day that was 28c. The only reason I didn’t give this hotel a full five stars is because the room is pretty dated. It could do with a good update. BUT don’t confuse dated with dirty. It was spotless! There’s no AC in the room, but a quick trip to reception found me with the receptionist’s own personal electric fan. Again, amazing service and I had a really good night’s sleep as a result. Thank you! Breakfast in the morning was really good. A great selection of hot and cold food and attentive service from a lady that stopped by every few minutes to see if we’d like anything. I think this hotel benefits from a more mature team of staff that care about what they’re doing. It really shows. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. Thank you for providing the best service I’ve had anywhere.

“Excellent restaurant and pool / spa facilities”

My wife and I stayed overnight at the end of January and were definitely not disappointed! The room (whilst smaller than anticipated) was clean and had a small balcony. The swimming pool and spa facilities were spotlessly clean and ideal for relaxation. The highlight though was the restaurant. … lisää

My wife and I stayed overnight at the end of January and were definitely not disappointed! The room (whilst smaller than anticipated) was clean and had a small balcony. The swimming pool and spa facilities were spotlessly clean and ideal for relaxation. The highlight though was the restaurant. We had a superb meal and accompanying wine in the evening and a wonderful breakfast the following morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the nearby lookout point was impressive.

“Good hotel near the Saarschleife”

The location is probably the main thing and it must be less than 10 minutes' walk to the Cloef lookout. Not much else in town. The hotel has parking around the side, an overly fancy restaurant, spa, free breakfast was a pretty ordinary spread but did the job. The staff are very good and speak go… lisää

The location is probably the main thing and it must be less than 10 minutes' walk to the Cloef lookout. Not much else in town. The hotel has parking around the side, an overly fancy restaurant, spa, free breakfast was a pretty ordinary spread but did the job. The staff are very good and speak good English. The room was quite large, had a balcony with no views, two single beds pushed together (always a disappointment) and a large and good bathroom. The minibar was free including some beer and wine. The wifi was pretty slow and had the usual German problem of needing to delete custom DNS servers and manually navigating to 192.168.1.1 to get the login screen to come up. Anyway, it's a good value hotel if you want to visit the Saarschleife.

“Lovely”

We stayed here one night as a stopover during our trip to France. We booked the lowest room category and were given a very nice upgrade - thanks again! Restaurant is only open until 9.p.m., but after that you can have some small things like cheese or ham or fried potatoes until 10 p.m. - very tasty… lisää

We stayed here one night as a stopover during our trip to France. We booked the lowest room category and were given a very nice upgrade - thanks again! Restaurant is only open until 9.p.m., but after that you can have some small things like cheese or ham or fried potatoes until 10 p.m. - very tasty! Yummy mirabelle brandy. Very friendly staff. Service during breakfast was slow - coffee arrived when we had eaten already. Hotel has a lovely garden and seems to have a huge wellness area/ swimming pool - we did not use that. I could imagine that the hotel might be lovely for wellness especially in winter. Hotel faces a street, but not very loud. The viewpoint "Saarschleife Cloef" is within 10 minutes walking distance. I also think this hotel might be great for a hiking holiday - lots of opportunities, suggestions and maps at the hotel and very short distance to the forest.
