“A very quite place”

This is a great hotel. Very clean and with an excellent pool area. It is located in the heart of Harz and it is easy to get around. The HSB steam train is within walking distance in Sorge. This is a great hotel. Very clean and with an excellent pool area. It is located in the heart of Harz and it is easy to get around. The HSB steam train is within walking distance in Sorge. We has an apparment which was very spacious and comfortable. The beds where elevationtype and we slept well. There is plenty of opportunity to hike in the area and bikes can be rented at the hotel. The view is very nice and it is generally a very familyfriendly hotel. The staff is wonderful, especially the owner. The restaurant serves your standard german cuisine with meat and more meat. The city of Tanne is very small, but it is possible to eat out. There is also a bakery and an icecream place. As a bonus the city has a famous chuch.

“Beautiful and peaceful”

This was my birthday and Christmas present from my son and daughter in law and grandsons. What a treat! No snow, but still beautiful. This is a good base for exploring the Harz region. We stayed in a self catering house. It was very comfortable. Be warned you pay extra for heating, linen and cleaning so check prices when you book. The staff are very accommodating and will order fresh bread rolls for you to pick up at reception. There is an indoor pool, sauna rooms and wellness centre. The restaurant is excellent. Food was delicious surprisingly reasonable priced. I was also surprised at how cheap drinks were. It must be spectacular in when there is snow, when there is cross country skiing. I would recommend this accommodation

we stayed here for a family event duyring 3 nights with 6 adults and 6 children, early April. We had booked in January and thought it would be spring but it was still very cold with lots of snow; lots of snow activities in the area. We had three Apartments; very comfortable and specious, ideal with children. The package was with breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The food was correct, the service very friendly and it is practical at this location to opt for all inclusive packages if you are with a larger group. It is almost next to the former German border, so you can experience both sides, with lots of outside activities and places to eat. In the hotel there is an indoor pool with sauna and massage. Very nice for (smaller) children who can already swim. It is well located to explore the different sites in the Harz.

The Hotel’s staff is really friendly but international travellers might face problems with the language, even though the hotel manager speaks very good English, the staff does not. The Hotel’s staff is really friendly but international travellers might face problems with the language, even though the hotel manager speaks very good English, the staff does not. The hotel has a small indoor swimming pool, a sauna and rooms are generally nice and clean. Breakfast is great, especially if you are a fan of cheese and meat products in the morning. I loved it. Other advantages of the hotel are the differing room-types. You can rent a single room, an apartment or even a whole house, which is great when u travel with family. Having said that, the hotel is not very modern, especially the breakfast room has a 70ies touch to it. Also the dinners in the evening where not totally convincing. I missed a Gym (but since this is rural Germany you can go hiking of course). In sum I think this hotel is good for a 2-3 days stay. If you are a nature lover, you might enjoy a longer stay.
