“Excellent Hotel - ideal for Colditz”

After horrendous traffic and roadworks on the autoroute, it was super to arrive at such a relaxing hotel for a two night stay. There is plenty of parking space by the hotel. After horrendous traffic and roadworks on the autoroute, it was super to arrive at such a relaxing hotel for a two night stay. There is plenty of parking space by the hotel. Our large, restfully decorated room was on the ground floor with a small terrace and pleasant outlook. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the food was delicious, and, we thought, reasonably priced. There was a wide selection, both hot and cold, to choose from for breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We plan to stay here again for several nights on our next visit to Colditz in 2018. Perhaps tea/coffee facilities in the room would be an advantage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you.

“Great hotel”

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Colditz Castle about 5 miles away. Had a room in the guest house complex just a few minutes walk from main building. Rooms are large, comfortable, clean and quiet. Only down side is they lack coffee making facilities, even though the room has a small kit… lisää

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Colditz Castle about 5 miles away. Had a room in the guest house complex just a few minutes walk from main building. Rooms are large, comfortable, clean and quiet. Only down side is they lack coffee making facilities, even though the room has a small kitchenette area (there is no equipment). One night we ate in the main restaurant which was OK, but they brought the main course before we'd finished the starters and just left them on the table. Prices are not cheap but there is no where else nearby that offers dining like this. The other night we ate in the Klosterschanker bar on site, a more traditional type of restaurant, good menu and fair prices. The sauna complex in the fitness area on site was also very good

We used this hotel to visit Colditz, which is just a few miles away. We stayed in the separate accommodation block, which was very clean and modern. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We used this hotel to visit Colditz, which is just a few miles away. We stayed in the separate accommodation block, which was very clean and modern. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had our evening meals in the 'pub' in the hotel's grounds, which was very friendly and informal - the food was lovely. I made use of the naturist spa, which is very well fitted out with two saunas, a steam room (not working during my stay), a rest area, multiple showers and a plunge pool. There is also an outdoor nude sunbathing area with loungers and chairs.

Very nice hotel a short drive from the town of Colditz. The buildings are in the grounds of a former Cistercian convent and the beautiful main dining room uses a lot of reclaimed timber in its stunning vaulted roof. Very nice hotel a short drive from the town of Colditz. The buildings are in the grounds of a former Cistercian convent and the beautiful main dining room uses a lot of reclaimed timber in its stunning vaulted roof. There is a main hotel and a second guest house 100m away. Rooms are a decent size, clean, warm, with a tea and coffee tray. Decent bathrooms with a good shower. It's a pity the bedrooms don't have a bit more character, but that's a minor quibble. Free parking. The breakfast had good choices and was more than ample. Excellent dining could be enjoyed in the restaurant. All the staff were helpful and friendly and there were good Covid precautions. The hotel is set amongst lovely countryside and would be a good base for a walking holiday.
