“Nice friendly place”

Family run nice hotel excellent restaurant. Breakfast buffet is one of the best my family had in Germany. Next to train station so you do not need a car and the bus stops right in front to go to Seiffen.

Stayed 2 nights here with 6 friends on a motorcycling trip through Europe. The hotel has a very traditional and historic feel to it with ruins in the grounds dating back to 1537. Stayed 2 nights here with 6 friends on a motorcycling trip through Europe. The hotel has a very traditional and historic feel to it with ruins in the grounds dating back to 1537. Although we arrived very late at night the staff member was very friendly and hospitable and led us to a large workshop / shed where we could keep our bikes. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food served in the restaurant was excellent. We had to leave very early in the morning and the staff were very happy to prepare a packed lunch for us in lieu of breakfast. This place makes an excellent stopping point on a tour.

Stayed here on business twice. A nice friendly hotel with a unique character. Food is fantastic and some of the menu is in English. Quilt on the bed could do with being thicker and the pillows were a little too soft and thin for my liking. Staff were very helpful but very little English spoken whic… lisää

This is a strangely deceptive hotel - I was filled with misgiving when we arrived in the cute rustic village setting. This is a strangely deceptive hotel - I was filled with misgiving when we arrived in the cute rustic village setting. Everything seemed a little too redolent of pre-unification East Germany......in some ways, it is refreshing to find somewhere that has not been refurbished into bland chain hotel standards, however, it seemed a little sad and down at heel. There are huge +s to choosing to staying here. The restaurant is very good - unpretentious, excellent food, well priced and served with good humour. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. Bathrooms, although small, are very adequate.The staff are always friendly and obliging. This is an excellent, country town hotel in an interesting, beautiful area. We were in a 'comfort' room which offered a little more space - it is definitely worth upgrading to these, they are on the first floor - standard rooms are much smaller and usually in the attic, often very dark and barely big enough for one person.
