Really Lovley Hotel , natural decor, great staff from Checking in to Carlo's amazing cappuccino's and Dinners were Amazing . Melanie's waitress service was beyond enjoyable. On my behalf and The Brax/Eurex team Thanks and I'm sure we'll be back. Simply enjoyable. :-)

“Nice but not perfect”

We booked for our anniversary this nice looking hotel at Timmendorfer Strand. When we arrived the staff was very kind and gave us a good start. We booked for our anniversary this nice looking hotel at Timmendorfer Strand. When we arrived the staff was very kind and gave us a good start. But the first low was the info that we can’t park our car at the hotel property. Because we have to reserve for parking previously. So we parked the car far away and without securing. All the days there was enough space... So we had three rooms for use three. And we got an upgrade to our room, with balcony. But, you have to know if you book with booking.com that you have to choose balcony explizite, if you like. I can recommend to have a balcony. A very high is the breakfast. It is extensiv, high quality, all you want! Spa, beautiful and gorgeous! Only the outside relaxing area is to small with only two sunbeds. You have a Norwegian sauna, with huge space. Gym, excellent. All what you need for your daily workout. Free weights, wire rope tower, bicycle, treadmill, leg press and stepper. The biggest disappointment was the field hockey group that arrived at our last night. They made loud noises until 2am!!! And nobody stopped them. I recommended that sport clubs should not stay in a high class hotel. The beach is close to the hotel, 5min walk. You have to pay for the beach chair 10-12€ per day. The restaurants in the village are average. If you want better, you have to go to Hamburg. The rooms are beautiful and look like American style Hampshire hotels. The mattress is comfortable. You have TV, shower bath and two chairs. A safe and a hair dryer. Wish you a good stay at Timmendorfer Stand!

“Nice dinner, very friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, but still room to improve.”

Staff was very friendly when we entered the restaurant. There is a comfortable feel to it when you come in which we appreciated. I think the lighting could still be improved a bit more, to make it even more cosy. Perhaps a fireplace... For Germany, I thought the wine prices were a bit overpriced. … lisää

Staff was very friendly when we entered the restaurant. There is a comfortable feel to it when you come in which we appreciated. I think the lighting could still be improved a bit more, to make it even more cosy. Perhaps a fireplace... For Germany, I thought the wine prices were a bit overpriced. What I really liked was that the restaurant had non-alcoholic beer which was actually really tasty. The starters are massive, so you can easily share a portion. The bread was super tasty, but the pesto was o.k. I think olive oil or a nice butter (like the Scandinavians offer it) would be better. One thing I find very surprising is that in a lot of countries you can simply order tap water or you get a jug of tap water with some lemon or cucumber straight away when you sit down. In Germany you always have to buy bottled water. Yep, not helping the carbon footprint, that's for sure. As a main course I had the veggie burger. Unfortunately not many veggie options on the menu. The hotel/restaurant would like to get the same feel like you would have if you were in Malibu, however there you would have a lot of healthier dishes and veggie options which you can't get here. I guess Germans love to eat meat and the whole debate about carbon footprint and antibiotics in meat hasn't really sunk in yet. Germany might need a few more years to get there. So a few more veggie options would be great. The best veggie burger I ever had was a combination of sweet potato and lentils, perhaps you can change the recipe and experiment a bit. I thought the burger was too big and not tasty enough. Brioche burger buns would be better. The fries were very good. The fish soup contained too much celeriac, but otherwise very tasty. The potato soup was good and the fish dishes too. Overall a nice experience, but I think the restaurant has a lot more potential.
