Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. One night using Marriott Bonvoy points. The hotel is located in a very good condition for visiting Europa Park and by the Europa Park Resort Hotels. About 15 to 20 mins walk to the entrance of Europa Park. The hotel has free lockers which you can use before checking in and after checking out, which is very useful when visiting Europa Park. The room was very modern and clean. The bed was really comfortable. The shower in the small bathroom was good. The free Wi-Fi and air con all worked well. The only negative was that the rooms did not have coffee / tea making facilities. The hotel has an lounge / bar area which has the fairground theme, which is well suited for the hotel's location. The drinks in the bar were reasonably priced. In fact I saw a number of Europa Park employees using the bar in the evenings. Breakfast was €14 extra, but was well worth it due to the range and quality of food offered.

“Moxy Rust during August”

We booked a stay in Moxy Rust in August. The lobby was really beautiful (Typical for Moxy), but the corridors leading to the rooms smelled a little bit muggy and they seemed a little bit outdated. The room was small but ok, it was very quiet during the night and the breakfast was also good. Europapark Rust is not far, you can walk to the park within 20-30mins across a small living area.

“Returning guest, disappointing to see the cost of a stay increase while the value you actually get decreases”

This was our 4th time staying here - the first being in 2023 - and we’ve found our experience has gone downhill each time. Like many others, I’m sure the thing getting us to return is simply the fact that it’s the cheapest hotel option in Rust, which it feels like Moxy has started to take advantage… lisää

This was our 4th time staying here - the first being in 2023 - and we’ve found our experience has gone downhill each time. Like many others, I’m sure the thing getting us to return is simply the fact that it’s the cheapest hotel option in Rust, which it feels like Moxy has started to take advantage of. When we first visited, housekeeping would clean your room daily, remake the bed, replace towels, empty bins etc. There is now no housekeeping service and you have to ask at reception for fresh towels, toilet roll, or anything else you might need, and with regular long queues at reception, this can be a pain. There’s of course a housekeeping team that cleans rooms on departure, so it just seems like a cost-cutting exercise they’ve realised they can get away with. Another sneaky change is the parking situation. Hotel guests used to be able to park for free at the front and back (in a considerable sized car park) of the hotel. They’ve now roped off all of these spaces so they sit entirely empty while making guests pay €10 a day to park in the cramped underground parking garage. We were quite rudely told at reception that parking anywhere other than in the garage wasn’t permitted, even on-street; this doesn’t feel like the case as there’s no signs anywhere to say this, and there was 4 spaces that hadn’t been roped off where we saw the same car parked there for the entire duration of our stay with no apparent repercussions. I understand during busy periods in Rust, anyone just using the hotel’s spaces could be frustrating, but it adds an extra cost onto your stay that you’re not made aware of while making the booking. Breakfast has also gone downhill for the cost. The first time we came, the breakfast had a decent variation, but now it’s the exact same food every morning and for the price (€12 per person per day) it’s not worth it. Go to the EDEKA or Lidl supermarket down the street and stock up on bananas, fresh bakery items etc and enjoy your own breakfast for far less. Unfortunately, there’s no fridge or storage facilities in the room, and you get 4 hangers on some mesh wire. They used to have a games room with loads of different board games, but they’ve all been removed and the room now sits empty. There’s now little for guests to do on an evening than sit in the small bar area which has no personality. If you’re staying here, go to the Europa Park hotels and spend your evenings there - the Bell Rock and Collesseo bars in particular - they’re full of personality and the staff are much warmer! I imagine most stays at Moxy Rust are for a few short days if people are visiting Europa Park, but regardless, it feels like they’re trying to give you as little value as they can while charging as much money as they can - especially if you’re having a longer stay.
