We stayed at Wild Coast Tented Lodge for a very special occasion—my proposal—and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely caring throughout our entire 4-day stay. We chose a cocoon without a pool, and it was spotless, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable. The ambience of the lodge, set right by the beach, created a truly unique and memorable experience. One of our favorite moments was enjoying drinks at sunset overlooking the ocean—absolutely unforgettable. The food was exceptional throughout the trip, with a great variety of dishes, consistently high quality, and impressive presentation. We found ourselves looking forward to every meal. The game drives were another highlight. Our ranger, Kilanka, was knowledgeable, passionate, and fully committed to helping us spot wildlife—especially leopards—which made the experience even more exciting. Overall, this was an incredible stay, and we would absolutely consider coming back. A special thank you to Tharindu, who went above and beyond in helping with bookings and making the proposal arrangements seamless and memorable.

Wow. This place blew us away. From start to finish everything was impeccable. Wow. This place blew us away. From start to finish everything was impeccable. The rooms are beautifully curated, the service is friendly and efficient (Mithun was excellent - he sorted everything for us seamlessly) and the food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. The quality of the food and drink in the all inclusive was particularly impressive. And on top of all that, there was the safari. Again - wow. We did an afternoon and a morning safari. I think we may have been the luckiest people in Sri Lanka that week. We had an excellent guide (JR) who was committed to trying to get us the very best sightings, assisted by our driver Samanfre and what a team. We saw FIVE leopards across the two safaris, and up really close too!!! It was truly breathtaking - an incredible experience. Being able to skip the huge morning safari queues by virtue of staying at Wild Coast is a very special touch too, and one that meant we were in prime position for the wildlife sightings. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We will be back!!

Our 3-night stay at Wild Lodge was not nearly long enough and it was genuinely difficult to leave. The property is immaculately designed. We stayed in a luxurious cocoon tent that is designed with an incredible attention to detail - you feel transported to a different time and place through the carefully selected interior, texture and quality. Pictures just don't do it justice. The pool area is truly heavenly, I'll be dreaming of that pool for years to come. The gym was so gorgeously designed that we used it twice (!) during our stay. The nightly Sundowners were a highlight, enjoying cocktails as the sun set to the sound of crashing waves. Arriving at the resort felt like we were being welcomed into a warm family. The hospitality and genuine kindness and friendliness we encountered was what made our stay truly unforgettable. While every person we met was so kind and helpful - a huge thank you to all the staff - there were several people who made our experience truly special. Rohan was our Experience Manger who made sure we always had everything we needed, answered our questions, and booked all of our experiences for us including the safaris and spa treatments. He always has a smile on his face and made us feel so welcome and cared for. He also created a WhatsApp group for us so that communication was seamless. Sharni was our incredibly knowledgeable and experienced ranger who shared her passion for the local wildlife and helped us find some of the most incredible animals I've ever seen in the wild! It felt like being in our own wildlife documentary, and we learned so much from her while also having so much fun and sharing many laughs together. Shoutout to Nipon our driver who expertly navigated the national park to help us find the animals! Kadek was my masseuse at the spa and I can honestly say it was one of the best deep-tissue massages I have ever had - and I've had many. Damith was our warm and friendly waiter who was always so kind and patient in helping us decide what to pick from the incredible menu. He educated us on the local cuisine and even helped me learn how to eat with my hand like a local! As there is one (incredibly beautiful) restaurant at the resort, it was nice to always have him as our main waiter as he remembered all of our dietaries and even our coffee orders and favorite drinks. The restaurant is truly of Michelin quality, as beautifully presented as it is delicious. Every dish we tried was incredible. I most enjoyed trying the local cuisine and was never disappointed. We had the opportunity to thank the chef on our last night and learned all about the incredible team he leads, including a talented pastry chef. The cherry on top was the outdoor cooking class on the last day of our trip, an experience personally recommended by the General Manager, Indika. We were fortunate to have the Sous Chef, Wajira, who expertly (and patiently) guided us to prepare four delicious local dishes. We then enjoyed the fruits of our labour with a delicious beachside feast, with additional dishes prepared by the restaurant. Highly recommend this experience! Last but not least, deep gratitude to Sewne from Reservations who helped us seamlessly organise our entire Sri Lanka trip - from transport in Columbo to airport hotels to car transfers and flights to Wild Coast, as well as transfer to our next stay in Resplendid Cape Wiligam and onwards to Colombo for our trip home. As three women travelling alone in an unfamiliar country this gave us so much peace of mind. If you're travelling to Sri Lanka, a few nights at the magical Wild Coast Tented Lodge is mandatory.

“Lovely location for a couple of days!”

Beautiful setting on te beach and the edge of Yala. Lovely tented lodge room with copper bath, colonial safari style decor all very tasteful. The food was great and some good cocktails and sundowners. Theres a small gym which was good. The whole focus is really on the 2 x safari trips each day. Ou… lisää

The food was great and some good cocktails and sundowners. Theres a small gym which was good. The whole focus is really on the 2 x safari trips each day. Our guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. However, be aware that this is very different from an African safari as the jeeps have to stick to the roads in Yala so there are a lot of jeeps chasing the same sightings. It was still good to watch the sunrise and all the animals and birds getting ready for their day! Two nights is definitely enough here
