“Excellent hotel near Locarno”

Excellent hotel near Locarno. The room was spacious, and the shower was too. The breakfast was good and so the Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. There is a paid parking near the hotel.

Very comfortable hotel in a great location a 3 minute walk to the bus stop. I loved all of the vegetables for their breakfast selection. They have lots to choose from. Breakfast is included. All of their staff is very friendly and helpful. A local transit card is included with the room.

Great hotel, hits all the marks: modern rooms, accommodating service, & convenient location. Yes, it's not in central Locarno or Ascona but equidistant to either via frequent buses. “Nice new hotel - horrible customer service attitude ”

The Hotel itself is new, therefore everything is still clean and in good order. Location is convenient, as it is right off the freeway and yet very close to Ascona (a 20 minutes stroll or a 5 minutes drive). The Hotel itself is new, therefore everything is still clean and in good order. Location is convenient, as it is right off the freeway and yet very close to Ascona (a 20 minutes stroll or a 5 minutes drive). Its right next door to a Migros Grocery Store, so great to get some water or snacks before your hikes. Free breakfast, the usual Hampton treat is another benefit. (Although all doors are open and no-one checks, so a lot of people came from the street and got free breakfast as well. Good for them). I would have given it an easy 5* But their customer service is horrible and their advertising of the room categories is misleading (to put it nicely and stay professional) I booked directly with the Hilton Honour App and paid extra for a room with a view. All we got was a room on the 2nd floor, looking at a building. After checking back with the front desk ... "sorry we are fully booked". Two hidden messages in this statement: 1st) of all the customers, you're the least appreciated, as we can downgrade you to a room without view, while others will get free Upgrades at our convenience. 2nd) we also don't care about our promise, to make it right. Deal with it. We also never got the guest card for free local bus rides (our friends who checked in the next day, got a 5th floor room with a view and their guest cards) At check-out, I tried to mention the disappointment but couldn't even finish my sentence with getting rudely interrupted 3 times by a younger lady. Finally some manager came and confirmed, that a 'room with a view' might be perceived a bit differently from a customer perspective but my room is actually within that category and if I would have booked a regular King Room, I would have faced the facade of the Migros Grocery Store... again no apology, no let us make things right, let's wave the parking fee, nothing but a third time a 'deal with it' attitude. What would have been a nice 3 night stay ended with a very bad taste and memory. If you prefer customer focused service or customer appreciation as a Hilton member, I'm not convinced that's the best choice of a hotel.
