“Good value and comfortable stay in wengen”

Stayed 4 nights. Family room is very good if you have children under 10ish. Breakfast is good not great (fried eggs please!). Location is great is you want a more lowkey city (we did). The park at the top of the gondola is fun.

This property is fantastic and was a great fit for our family of 4 with kids ages 6 & 10. The location could not be better - right on the Main Street and an easy walk from the train station (even with luggage). The interior feels recently renovated and the rooms, while small, are very efficient. We had a beautiful balcony with chairs and a balcony overlooking Lauterbrunnen Valley, which was a trip highlight. The hotel breakfast was a great way to start each day of adventuring. We also looked forward to coming back to the spa area for a swim everyday after hiking and biking. We could easily walk to restaurants for dinner and to the marble runs in town. There is no AC, but we were given oscillating fans and between the fans and opening a door or window in the evenings, we were able to get comfortable relief from the heat. Overall, a great stay that I would be glad to repeat. I was very glad to have based our trip in Wengen.

“Wonderful Ambiance in a Convenient Central Location”

Loved the warmth and ambiance of the Braunbar! The front desk staff were exceptional and went out of their way to help me find a lost item. The self-serve water and sparkling water station in the lobby was a nice touch and much appreciated. Our comfortably sized room had a balcony with a view of the mountains and was quiet. The hotel provided a tower fan and we slept with the balcony door open, which made it ‘cool enough’ to sleep during the unusual heat wave but we would have liked it even cooler. Hotel amenities include a lovely sauna, heated indoor pool, fire pit and outdoor chaise lounges -- all of which provided a perfect way to relax at the end of a busy day of hiking and sightseeing. The location is another plus. Just across the street from the Mannlichen cable car and within easy walking distance of the train station, stores, the Co-Op and all restaurants. Breakfast had a great variety of options, including GF bread. We loved our stay at the Braunbar and would stay here again in a heartbeat!! If management is reading this, the two things that were missing and that would have made our stay even better are a mini fridge and a comfy reading chair (our room just had a pouf/ottoman).
