Room is clean and spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Bathroom is large with a large tub you can fill with hot spring water; very relaxing. Beds are large and comfortable. Equipped with TV, fridge, but the room I stayed in lacked a proper closet. Breakfast is on the sixth floor and open from 7.00-10.00 AM. The food was neither bad nor good; it was just okay with Taiwanese style dishes, bread, coffee, a salad bar and some fruit. The hotel is very near the Hualien train station. Exit the main entrance and walk toward the 7-11, the hotel is a bit further up the Fuyu rd. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Some local restaurants are available near the hotel. A few coffeeshops are available (I recommend Cafe Anthesis which is just a 5 minute's walk away). If you want to go downtown, just take a taxi (about 150-200 NTD), or you can just walk; it's about 1.5 miles (2.2 km) from downtown. Nearby attractions include Taroko national park and Liyu lake which you could go by taxi .

We stayed one night at this hotel to visit the Taroko National Park nearby. This hotel is located very close to the train station, a five minute walk. The hotel itself could use a bit of refreshing, but we loved our room. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. You had all the comforts you needed; slippers, coffee and tea making facilities, amenities. The bathroom was amazing. The tub was huge, big enough to fit two people. The rain shower head was great. Very good quality for the price. Breakfast was more like a Chinese buffet than a breakfast bar, with noodles, meats, vegetables, soups, steamed buns and dumplings. Lots of variety, but not your typical breakfast items. We did enjoy our stay and would come again if we ever go back to visit Taroko. One word of advice. If you arrive by train to Hualien, be sure to take the REAR exit of the train station and not the front. It makes a world of difference. After exiting from the rear of the station, cross the small grassy area behind the station. You'll see a road diagonally right in front of you, with a noodle shop on the left hand side and a Seven Eleven on the right hand side. That is Fuji Road. Walk up 50 meters or so up that road, the hotel is on your left side.

The hotel is located on the northern side of the railway, which means you have to choose the correct exit at the station (max 5 min walk to the hotel) and you may have to walk a long way to the city center in the south. The hotel is located on the northern side of the railway, which means you have to choose the correct exit at the station (max 5 min walk to the hotel) and you may have to walk a long way to the city center in the south. Nevertheless, after staying there for 2 nights, all these seemingly inconveniences have been paid off. The region is very quite and actually closer to sightseeing spots. In-room hot spring is only for bigger rooms, in my case, family room of 4000 TWD per night, which is still very economical. The bathroom has big windows to fresh air and there is enough space for 2 people enjoying hot-spring while watching the marble like sky of Hualien. The room and service is not premium but acceptable and pleasant.

“Needs a facelift ”

Hotel was pretty clean, but our tub was leaking from the taps, and the general wear and tear is really showing. It needs a face lift for sure (stained hallways, wood chipped, beds sinking a bit in the middle). Clean enough, decent location, alright breakfast. I'd try another property next time, but… lisää
