I was touring Taiwan with my family and Taitung was just a town we arrived one evening to spend the night there so the location of the hotel was not too important. I was touring Taiwan with my family and Taitung was just a town we arrived one evening to spend the night there so the location of the hotel was not too important. But looking at the reviews and the map, we chose MATA Taiwan Indigenous Cultural Resort because it was next to the Taitung Forest Park. As bird photography is my hobby, I planned to take an advantage of the location early next morning. MATA is quite a large hotel with free parking on the street outside (there were plenty of free spaces). Hotel staff was very attentive and we can give the highest marks to all the employees we had a pleasure to deal with. Receptionists spoke good English. The room was very spacious, clean and with an interesting interior. It was dead quiet at night and the breakfast buffet was abundant and tasty. Although we spent there only one night, I can highly recommend the place. We would definitely stay there again if ever in Taitung. Oh, and the photo trip next morning was also very productive - I saw and took nice photos of many different species. The park even has couple of hides where you can observe the nature without interfering with it.

“Very comfortable stay!”

We stayed in Mata for the two nights we were in Taitung. Very easy to access and close to the center of town. The hotel is an indigenous cultural resort and also an eco-friendly one. The room was spacious and light, the area was quiet and the bed very comfortable after long days exploring the area.… lisää

We stayed in Mata for the two nights we were in Taitung. Very easy to access and close to the center of town. The hotel is an indigenous cultural resort and also an eco-friendly one. The room was spacious and light, the area was quiet and the bed very comfortable after long days exploring the area. Breakfast was cooked to order, simple, healthy and tasty. The coffee was freshly brewed as well. Highly recommended!

“Cozy and clean room, nice breakfast.”

Value for the money. Next to the park which you can have a morning run or walk when you stay here. Nice and delicious breakfast. But there is too noisy and annoying thing was the air craft fly thru non stop on the morning.

“Convince to visit TaiTung Forest Park”

The location is near with TaiTung Forest Park, they provides free bi-cycles,but, not much stock, you need to reserve it before they lend out all bi-cycle. It is good location to visit TaiTung Forest Park. However, that location is far from Night Market, and Central, You need spend 25 minutes walk… lisää

The location is near with TaiTung Forest Park, they provides free bi-cycles,but, not much stock, you need to reserve it before they lend out all bi-cycle. It is good location to visit TaiTung Forest Park. However, that location is far from Night Market, and Central, You need spend 25 minutes walking from Hotel to TaiTung Night Market, and going to rail station by Taxi (Not Walking Distance).
