I needed a clean place for an overnight stay within easy reach of Taoyuan International Airport and this was perfect for that purpose. This is not a luxury hotel, there is no spa or gym. City Suites handles large volumes of short stays and they do it well. For those arriving or leaving by MRT, there is a short cut from the Dayuan stop which makes it very accessible for those arriving or leaving by foot. Ignore the longer walking directions on Google Map and follow the posted signage leading through the MRT station parking lot. You will be directed up a small road before taking a sharp right onto a foot path that leads across a wooden bridge that ends at the hotel lobby. The last few signs are in Chinese only, so pay close attention. The hotel staff speak English and are courteous and helpful. The hotel is generally clean though a bit worn in spots. My duvet had a few stains and the hem was a bit frayed even though it did feel recently laundered. The hallways gave off a slight smell of ancient cigarette smoke from long ago (the entire building is non-smoking but I'm guessing it wasn't always so). As mentioned by some other reviewers, the rooms have "romantic" lighting though this is not really a romantic hotel. They have added a floor lamp which helps, but it's still not truly bright. I don't wear make-up myself, but I did wonder if the bathroom had enough light for someone who needed to apply some in the morning. Other small details. The hotel provides a few bottles of drinking water and there are also drinking water dispensers on each floor. The bathroom seemed newly remodeled and worked beautifully. I appreciate that they provide only a small bar of handwashing soap and have dispensers of body wash and shampoo in the shower instead of a large array of disposable toiletries. The room also came with a folding luggage rack which was appreciated though I would have liked a couple of clothes hangers or even just a hook to hang clothes on. There were plenty of outlets to charge devices on which is important these days. The walls do seem a bit on the thin side. I could hear the murmur of voices next door even though they didn't seem to be speaking loudly. Fortunately, the guests are mostly a quiet lot. This is not somewhere you go to party. I did not eat at the hotel though they did pack me a decent breakfast to go for my early morning flight. I chose to walk to the nearby Family Mart (5-10min?) and grab some fast food instead in the evening. The area has no sidewalks and is a bit industrial and empty at night. I probably wouldn't have done this as a woman alone in most other countries, but it was fine here. It was raining when I planned to leave in the morning so I had to request a last minute taxi to get me to the airport instead of taking the MRT. It cost me $200 and was managed very efficiently. I would definitely stay at City Suites again if I ever need another airport hotel in Taoyuan. It is relatively affordable compared to the official airport hotels and I found it to be of very acceptable quality.

“Comfortable and close to the airport”

This hotel is located near a high-speed rail station. Although the property isn't luxurious, it offers a lovely view of planes taking off and landing. Besides, the staff are courteous and friendly.

This is a really good option for an airport hotel. For being so close to the airport, it is also quite economical. We used it arriving and leaving Taiwan in March 2024. This is a really good option for an airport hotel. For being so close to the airport, it is also quite economical. We used it arriving and leaving Taiwan in March 2024. The taxi fare, to and from the airport is a very reasonable price. (We were NEVER gouged by a taxi driver in Taiwan)! The front desk staff is helpful, and they offer free luggage storage. Their breakfast and supper buffets offer a huge selection of dishes! Furthermore, the rooms are nice and clean. It’s about a ten-minute walk to a metro station that can take one to the TPE airport, or, alternatively, to the main Metro station in Taipei. Despite being newbies we were able to use these trains to get us to Hualien, near the Taroko Gorge National Park. We enjoyed hiking in this park immensely, and left only five days before the terrible earthquake! Our thoughts and prayers are still with the wonderful people of Taiwan because of this event! No complaints whatsoever!
