“A beautiful retreat in the mountains”

We booked the Katiliya Resort just for a couple of nights of peace and quiet and it was such a great decision Our suite was spotless. We had the honeymoon suite which had a balcony with such a beautiful view as we were above the tree canopy. The villa was spacious with a nice sitting area. The en suite had a tub plus shower and they'd left me a lovely bath bombe. The resort had 2 pools, one was a swimming pool (it was about 20m. I swam a mile so I made good use of it) there was also a smaller heated spa pool. There was a sister property within a nature reserve and they have a free shuttle service to take you there. It was nice but personally I didn't like that the beautiful birds were in such small cages. They should be free to fly properly. The restaurant setting is beautiful as it overlooks the mountains. We saw white squirells while we sat there in the day. We were half board and the food was really good. It was some of our favourite food in Thailand. All the staff were so helpful. We had to check out at 5.45am and they made us the biggest breakfast boxes to take with us. We had so much food that we gave our taxi driver 2 boxes. If you're looking for a gorgeous retreat, then Katiliya should be on your radar.

“Nice resort in the mountains”

After the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai and Bangkok, it twas nice to be out in the country and have a bit of peace. The rooms are large, we had a big balcony where we could see the sunrise in the morning, and since we were in the country we could see the stars at night. It was a nice change o… lisää

After the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai and Bangkok, it twas nice to be out in the country and have a bit of peace. The rooms are large, we had a big balcony where we could see the sunrise in the morning, and since we were in the country we could see the stars at night. It was a nice change of pace. Staff is very, very nice. Since we were out in the country, we ate our dinners at the hotel, and the food was excellent. If you need a break from Thai food, the hamburger is excellent (even though my friends gave me a bad time about ordering a burger). The rooms could do with a little updating, but we definitely would stay here again.

Lovely place to spend some calm days, after a busy week of travelling, this was to be our wind down place so we booked massages and looked forward to our break in the mountains. Lovely place to spend some calm days, after a busy week of travelling, this was to be our wind down place so we booked massages and looked forward to our break in the mountains. The bedroom is perfectly adequate with a lovely balcony, both very spacious offering good views and sun loungers, however, our balcony was in constant shade from tall trees outside which also blocked our view of sunrise. The bathroom, also huge and very well laid out & equipped but was unfortunately too cold to shower. With the shower space I would have expected a large rain shower which might have heated up the area but it was just the normal shower head. The resort has both cold and heated pools & jacuzzi. Our massage was excellent but our tea was rushed as our driver appeared without being ordered and we were ushered out very quickly. We had dinner on the restaurant balcony with superb views as we watched the sunset. Food was very good for dinner, breakfast was average. Staff were supreme in every area and the buggy service was brilliant and much appreciated. If we were staying longer we would have asked for a room change but it was a short break to relax and overall it was something a little different, we enjoyed it.
