This hotel is in a great location in downtown Loei. It is close to many bars, restaurants, shops, banks and markets. It is down a side street meaning it is still very quiet. There is a large 7/11 about 50 metres from the hotel. It is a 100 THB taxi ride from the airport and a 60 THB tuk tuk ride to the main bus station. The rooms and common areas at the Loei Orchid Hotel are a little dated but are still clean and adequately maintained. The room includes 2 free bottles of water and some free toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and large. The TV has many channels, albeit only a few English ones, and the WIFI worked reasonably well when I stayed. The room offers a good view of the town and the surrounding area. I tried the breakfast one morning and while priced only 100 THB I found it quite mediocre. It is a better bet to go to a nearby restaurant or cafe for breakfast. Even the room was not large it still was enough for a couple with a decent amount of luggage. The Loei Orchid Hotel represents a real bargain for what it provides. I must mention the helpful staff who dealt with all my queries in detail and provided excellent advice about sightseeing and travelling around Loei. Next time I'm back in Loei, I will probably stay there again.

“Old hotel”

It's an old hotel that needs an restauration and upgrade. The room was ok for it's price. The staff nice. And the location is good in the center of town. The backside can be noisy with a few bars and a disco.

This hotel has a good location near the centre of town and less than 100m from a 7-11 store and some restaurants near a traffic roundabout. My room ( no.307) was very clean and had a nice comfortable bed, but the reading lights ( if that's what they were) were too high on the wall and not bright enough for reading. The TV was an old CRT model and the only English language news channel I could find was Channel News Asia. There was a bar fridge with two free bottles of water each day. There was plenty of wardrobe space and a bench seat. The bathroom was very clean and the hot water service was very good and much appreciated in the cold weather (9C at night), and I did not need the air conditioning. The hotel itself was very quiet, though there was some noise at night from the nexr street. There is a nice sitting area downstairs, and plenty of free parking. Breakfast is available if booked the night before, and costs B100. One thing lacking was a kettle for making tea or coffee in the room.

Not much to do in town itself but the hotel is conveniently located in its centre, close to few restaurants and shops, 10 mins by tuk tuk from the bus station. The room was small but had a comfy bed, air-con and a TV with satellite channels. The first night we found ants in our bathroom but after spraying some anti-bug spray, they went away. The staff were friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast for an additional charge (150B per person) Room tip: best get a room facing the hotel/ building next door, the ones facing the street might get a bit loud from the nearby karaoke bar.
