Two bottles of water prepare each room, you have to pay extra to get more. Breakfast on a weekend is buffet style but weekday will serve as set. Room rate includes a visit to a park, you can rent a fancy dress for taking photo. Menu option for dinner is quiet limit and taste is just ok.

My stay at The Blue Sky Resort in Khao Kho was a delightful experience that felt like a visit to the French or British countryside, right in the heart of Thailand. The food selection was a pleasant surprise. While they offered classic Thai dishes, there was also a distinctly American touch, down to the grilled cheese sandwich. The breakfast buffet was particularly enjoyable, offering a variety of options to start the day right. However, the limited wine, champagne, and premium alcohol menu was disappointing. I bought a bottle of prosecco, but there was only one option, and it was a low-end bottle worth $15. Given that this is one of the nicer hotels in the area, the lack of premium alcohol was surprising. If you know and like what you drink, you are better off bringing your own alcohol. The resort's gardens were beautifully maintained, adding to the overall charm of the place. The ecological pest control was impressive, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay without any unwelcome critters. The architecture, with its cute English and French styles, added to the feeling of being transported to a European countryside. Visiting in the off-season meant we had the place practically to ourselves, which was a bonus. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean, contributing to a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The only downside for me was the firm bed, which might not be to everyone's liking. This is a fairly large property, so all travel around the property was via golf cart. Their golf cart service was impeccable—just call for a ride via WhatsApp, and in less than 10 minutes, a ride was there, ready to take you where you want to go. However, the room service was not as seamless. You can't order room service via an app; you actually have to call the kitchen, using the country code and all, considering I was calling from my international mobile. It was so complicated that I got to the kitchen faster by golf cart than by attempting to order room service. Overall, The Blue Sky Resort is a charming and well-maintained retreat that offers a unique blend of Thai hospitality and European aesthetics. Whether you're there for the food, the gardens, or the serene atmosphere, it's a lovely place to unwind and enjoy a different side of Thailand.

Khao Kho is littered with resort style accommodations, just everywhere – most of them taking maximum advantage of the stunning views in the area. Blue Sky Resort was no exception, but in my opinion seemed to be that little bit better than most of the competition around, particularly in the area covered by the resort itself – it is a huge place. It appears to be European themed with a particular emphasis on French, German and English themed rooms and villas (including, even - a couple of castle type buildings). We were booked into a French themed room in a large building which was (we were told) one of the newer buildings at the resort. It was adequate but (in my opinion) not spectacular, the dominating feature was a huge mural behind the bed, of a French river scene. It was nicely done but not amazing. The other feature of the room was a rooftop dormer type window/skylight with net curtains covering the window to protect from the suns glare and give a little bit of privacy. Unfortunately, being in the roof, it obviously gets neglected during the daily room cleaning and as we looked up at the window and net curtains – all we could see was a plethora of spider’s webs, weaving their way all over the net curtains. We tried to report what we had seen to the resort staff via the in-room telephone, however we found that the telephone doesn’t work in the room, which was a bit concerning about how we would report an emergency, or a fire in the room if we needed to (for example). In the end we searched on Google on our mobile phone for the telephone number of the resort staff, so we could report our findings, however - the only number we could find was the resort Head Office (Bangkok?), who then had to transfer our call to the Blue-Sky resort staff at our location. We told them we felt uncomfortable in this room and asked if it would be possible to look at other available rooms – and were told that “pictures of the rooms were available for guests to look through at the reception desk”, however we insisted that we wanted to see real rooms – not pictures, especially after what our first room had revealed. And we then got told also, that if we wanted an alternative room of a higher grade than we had been originally booked in – then we would have to pay a 1000 baht supplement. Eventually the person on the phone offered to send someone to our room who would then physically show us some other rooms. A few minutes later the staff member arrived (who had originally showed us to this room) and we pointed out what we had found (the spiders webs and broken telephone) and he genuinely also seemed quite shocked at our findings and after a bit of negotiations (and accounting for the low standard on offer of the current room), he offered to move us to a different room in a different building which was a slightly higher-grade room – and (as he told us) - English Country Style themed. This second room was better both in size and décor and even had a small balcony (which the first room didn’t). It wasn’t 100 perfect with a few stains on the sofa seating – but if felt better than the previous room so we graciously accepted. The main selling point of Blue Sky resort is definitely the grounds, and the buildings in those grounds. They are well kept and quite huge – so much so that for many of the resort facilities, you have to call for transport to take you there (such as going to the swimming pool or gym) (And providing the room phone works, of course). As mentioned the room are nice, but fairly standard but the real beauty of this resort has to be the gardens and buildings – they are quite spectacular and great for taking photographs in and around. Breakfast the following morning was adequate with the majority of the foods catering to the Asian palette, just the usual hot-dog type sausages and inexpensive ham for the Western guests and (what appeared to be) instant coffee in a pre-made coffee pot – but it was all Ok. It’s a good sign of an enjoyable stay when the guest doesn’t want to leave and we were two hours later than our planned departure time – despite a difficult drive home ahead, through mountainous roads (some of which are extremely steep). We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this resort/hotel, particularly if you like the outdoors (both at the resort and surrounding areas). It may not be one of the cheapest resorts in the area – but it is most certainly amongst one of the best.

“Beautiful environment, resort has flaws”

The resort is spread out over a large beautifully landscaped area. We had a room in the building along the Secret Garden. Reception is fast and efficient. The room in this lovely environment is not super, actually below what you would expect. It was quite small, had twin beds, a fridge and a nice … lisää

The room in this lovely environment is not super, actually below what you would expect. It was quite small, had twin beds, a fridge and a nice bathroom. No desk or anything that could function as such. It is quiet. The swimming pool is far away and you need the shuttle to get there. The pool is large, deep enough, not offering much shade and there are no flatbeds. Just some not very comfortable chairs. The restaurant is about 200 meters from the room. Quite large, with a menu offering many choices of Thai and western food. Prices are at the resort level.
