I've stayed at Suan Sampran (Sampran Riverside) numerous times over many years. It's an awesome place, affordable (pricewise), and the cleanest hotel I've experienced in Thailand. Beautifully maintained grounds, riverside location, various Thai - related cultural activities, great swimming pool, and most of all, excellent staff. Front desk personnel have always been extremely helpful and accommodating - service with a smile!. I count this hotel to be in the top 1% of best of the best. Definitely a 5 star establishment.

“Love the shampoo”

Staying here for a night because it’s one of the closest hotels to the church where the Pope is visiting in the morning. Their shampoo and soap are amazing! Staying here for a night because it’s one of the closest hotels to the church where the Pope is visiting in the morning. Their shampoo and soap are amazing! Organic lemongrass (or lemon and basil?) shampoo and jasmine (possibly other flowers too) shower gel, leaves your hair feeling clean and so good and soft that you won’t even need conditioner. It was so good that I washed my hair twice, which wasn’t drying for the scalp at all it felt even better. The organic jasmine shower gel is really good too. The resort is really genuinely eco-friendly, without that excessive use of plastic you see in so many other places. They use glass bottles for their shampoo and shower gel instead. Other than that, very clean room, very good water pressure and hot water (but not scalding) for the shower. Also very good WiFi signal and comfortable pillows and beds. Staff are very friendly and nice.

“Very nice hotel in need of renovation”

We have stayed at the Suan Sampran over the weekend for a quick escape from the city. The hotel was showing its age but still has the old grande dame charm which is very nice. The room we have stayed in are in need of a serious renovation with paints peeling everywhere, torn carpets and broken furn… lisää

We have stayed at the Suan Sampran over the weekend for a quick escape from the city. The hotel was showing its age but still has the old grande dame charm which is very nice. The room we have stayed in are in need of a serious renovation with paints peeling everywhere, torn carpets and broken furnitures. The toilets needed replacement and the lighting needs to be upgraded. While the hardware is dilapidated, the service and activities did really made up for it. We took a tour to Patom organic farm across the river and was amazed by its beautiful sceneries and the effort they have put to create a truly organic experience. The organic market in the main area is really good and the grounds of the hotel is kept in immaculate condition with beautiful flora and fauna. The restaurants in the hotel serves one of the best Thai food in the whole world. We had lunch at the Inn Chan and was extremely impressed by the quality of the food and the taste of it. Dinner and Breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby was really really good with dishes in Tapas sizes meaning we could order a few dishes to try. The desserts are really good and the Thai Dessert sampler with the coconut moose "Tako" is to die for so is the Coconut Ice Cream. Overall, with new renovations the hotel would be a wonderful destination that could rival the likes of luxury brands as it was simply a quick drive from Central Bangkok but seems like a different world.
