Rushaga Gorilla Camp offers comfortable and practical accommodations for gorilla trekking in the Bwindi area, particularly in the Rushaga sector; the Nkuringo sector is about an hour’s drive away, which is also no problem. The camp offers cabins as well as sites for your own tent, good food, helpful staff, and afternoon tea or coffee with a pastry included in the price. It was a pleasant experience watching monkeys in the trees near the cabin terrace and enjoying a cultural performance by children from nearby schools before dinner. An added bonus was having our boots cleaned after trekking. Wi-Fi worked only at the front desk and in the restaurant. During our stay, only the children’s pool was filled with water. We recommend visiting the Batwa community center nearby.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is hardworking, but the overall experience was disappointing.
